Welp, Kira is now the most unsettling anime character I have witnessed. Maybe even more twisted than Junko from Danganronpa series.

To be fair, Jojo has been told orders-of-magnitude more coherently than Danganronpa, so that comparison may not be fair to our dear, demented Junko.
Also, my vote goes to Griffith of Berserk, though the display is more subdued than regular.

This episode is interesting...you kind of want to root for Kira to escape out of this situation unscathed, but at the same time, you know he's up to no good and the heroes are right there half of the time. Kira was really hanging by a thread, at least as long as Kosuke and Okuyasu were around, considering Harvest's specialty is locating things.
Shouldn't Shigechi have noticed his bag was a big heavier than normal though? A human hand weighs more than it feels.

That is ultimately the biggest problem with Diamond is Unbreakable is that it really feels more like goofing off than the previous three series which had a constant sense of agency. With Kira in DiU things finally start moving, even if Kira has a crippling case of DGAF which removes him from most of that plot and is the LEAST proactive villain in all of Jojo |
Eh, I didn't mind much. The journey has still been quite fun, and personally, that's where it counts. Kind of like with One Piece: If anyone's going in with the desire for Luffy to careen headlong through the Grand Line to find the treasure at the end, they're sorely mistaken.

Give the poor guy a break, he only wants to live a quiet life with his "severed hand-gf" and maybe do some serilal killing now and then. Is that really too much to ask?!
I agree that it a was a pretty clever move to put the audience in Kira's shoes. Half of me wanted him to get away just for the heck of it while the other half wanted him to get away because surely very bad things would happen (and not necessarily to him...) if he was discovered...which brings me to the world's most unfortunate greedy little bastard Shigechi because even without having read the manga, i'm getting the feeling he's pretty much screwed...

And what have we learned from this, Kira? All of this could easily have been avoided had you simply been kinder to the dog. I hope you remember this lesson.

Hmm, not sure whether the appropriate response is "tmi" or "Go on...." >.>

This is definitely not like a normal manga or anime, so you can't guarantee Josuke and Okuyasu would leap right in at the nick of time in order to save Shigechi. The kid weighs what, 120 kilograms? That's about 250 pounds.
But yeah, this episode makes me think of movies like Strangers on a Train where entire scenes are dedicated to the villain struggling with something. And I think it's good writing when the author can successfully put the audience member in the villain's shoes. Shows they can write both sides of a conflict well.

Well, a human head weighs about the same as a bowling ball. The idea is that because they've been attached to the rest of your body your whole life, you might not realize how heavy these body parts actually are.

That's something you can actually infer without literally touching a human hand, when any limb is cut off it weighs more than you expect because there is nothing supporting it. But in that part, I'd say that a big sandwich (Kira's at least looked pretty big) might be close to the weight in a bag like that. McDonalds' bags are kind of heavy with only a hamburger and fries in it.

Kira's leitmotif is a dead ringer for the first few bars of the piano track of Killer Queen, the song his stand is named after.

It would've been avoided all together if he stopped with the weird carrying around of a severed hand routine.

Boy, oh boy!
He's in for a big surprise.

Yeah well, the thing with stand powers is it gets more creative, not stronger. I'm not saying kira is weaker than Dio or anything, but you haven't seen all killer queen's sub-ability so you might want to reserve your judgment on that...

Episode 22
For some reason I really enjoyed seeing all the Stand users gathered together. However, I can't remember who the short green guy who looks like he's melting is.
Also not quite clear on how Kira beat Shigechi to the door handle.

It was cool seeing all of Morioh's Stand users in one episode. And I just love when the radio music starts playing. That's pretty much Kira's theme song right there.

Okuyasu's dad. He even calls him dad.
Stands are non-physical, they can go through doors and walls. It's not obvious but we should infer that Kira saw Shigechi approaching to that door (or saw Josuke and Okuyasu before him, he already knew what they look like) and put the bomb there.
