I haven't kept up with Cartoon Network's schedule but since this is airing at 10PM, is it going to be in the similar fashion as Dragon Ball Z's minor editing during the later-night programming?

Oh man I can't wait... I really can't wait... Finally! No more stupid puns, guns instead of toys... sadly the TV version will have the lollipop thanks to the Freakin' FCC... they will also have "Zolo" not "Zoro" but at least the upcoming DVD version will be uncut. I can't for the new dub!

Actually, if the episodes people saw at a recent con are correct, Sanji won't have a cigarette or a lollipop.

Really... Nothing it better than a lollipop... it's less childish... and it appeases to the Freakin' FCC... I don't mind because of the DVD will have the good stuff.

The one thing I fear is if the punches will be edited out. Apparently, whenever someone got hit, they would have had to shown one of those hit effects (I guess like those things you see in comics) or edited out the hit so that the actual contact could not be seen. I truly deeply hope that these edits did not have to be made, especially seeing as how Naruto on Cartoon Network (and all other anime on Toonami, I think) never edit these things out and One Piece is airing a full hour after Naruto.
But yeah, definitely looking forward to this. Like...A whole lot.

Ah, thanks for posting this. CN hasn't aired any kind of promo (and it's not like they can outright say "Hey kids One Piece doesn't suck anymore!") So as fans, we're really trying to spread the word and such since it's hard enough for Funi to rebuild the show's reputation.

That's probably because they showed the uncut version at AWA. I seriously doubt he'll keep his cigarette in the Toonami one.

Actually what they do is add a quick white flash at the moment of impact whenever there's a punch. FUNi did the same thing with their dubs of DBZ & YYH, but most people never noticed them because they really are so quick. I'm not really sure if the Naruto dub does it as well, but really it wouldn't surprise me since most of the time it goes unnoticed unless you're really looking for it. So trust me, you have nothing to fear about these edited punches.

I'm really looking foward to the dub tonight. I have a lot of faith in Funimation doing a great job.

Really? That is quite surprising, since I followed all of DBZ and YYH from the very beginning on CN and I would have never guessed they'd have done anything like that. In fact, a lot of violence seemed to have been left in on those versions. And I mean a whole lot!
Now so far with Naruto I haven't noticed anything like that either, and have been following that since it debuted on CN. But I don't know, I'm probably just missing it again. As for One Piece, well, I wasn't aware of those ones actually until it was brought to my attention on here. I wonder if it's some form of subliminal advertising if it's that unnoticeable?
Well yes, definitely looking forward to watching it tomorrow night. Heck, I've been counting down towards it ever since I heard this wonderful news in the first place!

No such edits were made in DBZ and YYH. No such edits are made to Naruto either, and since One Piece is being edited to the same standards at Naruto, it's unlikely that any 'flashes' will be use.
Hell, I don't think the 4Kids dub used any 'flashes'.

CN hasn't a made a trailer for this yet?
I'm not a huge fan of One Piece, but I'm interested on how much it has "improved".

Cartoon Network doesn't advertise anything on Toonami outside of new Naruto episodes. It might be getting a new dub and starting a new season but that doesn't seem to mean much to them.

Well if it's only going to be edited to Naruto's standards, then that makes me feel WAY better about it, seeing as how Naruto barely has any edits made to it at all. I just hope they keep the original OPs and EDs in there instead of making their own. I think right now, knowing what has already been said, that's all that matters to me right now.

Great news! Because of all the criticism of the previous dub, I've been avoiding the show on tv. However, I'm a little worried. If I start watching it now from its story arc, will I be completely lost?
