Is this going to air on the same network and time slot as Naruto Shippuden though? Or is it a separate spinoff with its own timeslot?

I'm pretty sure it's replacing Naruto like how Fairy Tail Zero is doing it ATM.

Sigh... At this point, I could give 1/3 of a half-eaten shit about this Itachi spin-off.
When are they gonna let Naruto Shippūden end?!?

Pffft. Fillers till march (obviously), then Itachi Shinden, most likely with a crapton of fillers, then fillers again.

So Filluden ends at 450(670 overall) and continues with Spinoffuden the following week. I'm confident they'll adapt the others.

I'm thinking they want to make an even 500. And I wish that were a joke.
I'm hoping Itachi Shippuden will be better than the current half assed remake of Naruto by the anime's writers than shouldn't have been made.

Milk it baby, milk it!!
Gods, I was actually looking forward to the end of Naruto. I stopped watching when the filler started and figured I would pick it up after the fillers ended. I had no idea it was going to be the filler apocalypse. So I dropped it, went read manga and have no intention of watching anymore of this.

The manga publisher's evil plan worked perfectly.
To be fair, driving interest in the original manga is always the plan of publishers for the manga. Though making the anime so full of filler excrement seems shortsighted on the production committee as a whole, though the Japanese fans are still lining up for the milk. I guess they don't mind getting screwed by the milkman.

Whenever they chase the chimpanzees out of the writers' room. That may take some time.
In all seriousness, right before the Japanese fans threaten to quit the show en masse. So probably around 2017 or so.

Honestly, I don't mind filler if it's actually good/at least decent. I mean i love CCS, enjoy the 90's SM filler, even Natsume yuujinchou's anime also have a few of their own original episodes that aren't on the manga, but all of them has been pretty good/decent. Unlike these filler episodes of Shippuuden...geeezzz

Don't insult chimpanzees, please. They are better than these and don't deserve to be compared with those, who is responsible for a current mess of a story.

So on the one hand the current filler arc ends in 3 episodes YES!!!
On the other we get an adaption of a pair of books repeating stuff seen in flashbacks over and over again sigh.
Still we may be lucky the current opening has 10 episodes left so this Itachi arc may only last 7 episodes.
Oh if you want to see a manga accurate version of the fight between Naruto in kyuubi form vs Pain watch episode 447 it may be in a filler arc but this fight is the same as the manga not the loony toons style fight of the anime original version.

The series proper ended when the giant tree caught everybody (including the viewers) and sucked them into Crappy Dream World.
Madara wins.
The end.
