Not gonna' lie, I was really hoping for a change in writers. But a new director; that seems semi-promising, given that I've only seen Nodame out of the stuff she's done. ^^; Hopefully some new blood will push the production into a more positive direction.
EDIT: Doh! Totally goofed on the director's gender. Changed that; my bad!

New director is a woman :3 Click on the link of her name.
So like is this actually going to premiere on TV or more nico nico bs? I'm hoping they put some money into it this time instead of outsourcing to Malayasia for practically nothing. I too want the writer too current one is so friggen terrible in spite of the weak animation the script was really Crystal's biggest weakness.

The new director's also done both of the "When They Cry" series so there's a bit of promise there.
I wish the new character designer was on the animation team instead as he's done key animation on many Gundam series as well as Death Note, Inuyasha and many more.
I heard it was getting a tv broadcast so maybe more money will be thrown at it and they're only commiting to a 12-13 episode run so hopefully the budget will be better spent.

"We've saved on animation money this season by completely erasing the senshi from the story! Please enjoy Tuxedo Mask Crystal."

The new character designer was animation director for the episodes that Studio Dub had worked on (Acts 10, 14, 18, 22, 26) and I recall people crapping on the animation for those episodes too.

I hope the characters designs are less shitty this season.

I can't really comment on the staff changes since I'm unfamiliar with their work. Fresh blood is promising at least, even though I wish we had a new head writer instead.
So happy it's premiering in April, and I'm excited for the teaser pic and to find out the Outer VAs. It's too bad there likely won't be any reprisals, but I'll give the new ones a chance.

I hadn't heard anything about the episode count. It's possible we're in for another 20-something episode season, given the final chapter of the Infinity arc also begins the Dream arc.

Just pointing out, that it's the Infinity arc, not the Death Busters arc.
I'm hopeful with the change of director. The same writer doesn't bother me, because by the end of the Dark Moon stuff, it was already better. Heck, from Pluto's death and on, it was up to the level I'd been expecting from the start. So the writer got it down by the end, hopefully a change of director and we can have that quality from the start.

It's Black Moon, not Dark Moon.

Enjoy watching Crystal so far, so finally hearing new news on more arcs is making me get hyped! Can't wait to learn more.

Here's hoping the change with a new character designer will at least result in improvement with the animation.

I really enjoyed Golden Time, so I'm looking forward to Chiaki Kon's directing. But I'm not sure what impact the changes will have on what seems to be people's main complaints, the writing and animation.
Writing wise, the adaptation was really faithful to the manga, which doesn't have the best writing. And I'm saying that as a huge Sailor Moon fan, someone who owns multiple releases of the manga series from both Tokyopop and Kodansha.
I'm really hoping the animation will be improved.

Out-sourcing is typically done more so due to a lack of time and animators and not so much money. A single episode of the first season probably cost no less than the usual $90,000-110,000 for low-level series.
