Ah Dragonar Academy. If you're into tentacles and girls with boobs with little story then I still can't recommend this show. You're better off go watch some hentai and still get a better satisfaction.

Have you watched hentai recently? Gone are the day when hentai anime had interesting/wild plots with a good variety of storylines. Nowadays most hentai is low budget, just like average porn, but in 2D. The simple truth is that series like Dragonar Academy are the new hentai (of old), without penetration (on screen at least) but with a lot more episodes. |

Dragonar Academy is just one guilty pleasure after another. The series is blatantly saying, "here's your naked loli fanservice, and here's your erotic peril with a side of tentacles."
I don't think it'll work out in the end, for the anime at least. I think it showed everything that's going to be shown as far as the fanservice goes. |

Damn, I had a bit of hope for it in my mind ("the plot is interesting; it can't be all boobs, right? It's only PG in Canada...")

This anime is just shit. Even in the ecchi harem fantasy, there are still standards, which this anime meets none of. Is the animation good? No. Are the characters actually funny? No. Does the fanservice toughens your dick? No. This anime bores me on every level. I left it halfway and even if the final act gets better, I would not care at this point.
For the love of God, I just want to see the main male character actually give a shit about all the sexual situations he is put on, man up and do what he is supposed to do. Watch High School DxD instead. Even the latest, which is by the far the worst in the franchise, is still better than this. |

When I first heard the title I thought it was somehow related to the classic mecha anime Metal Armor Dragonar. Needless to say I was sorely disappointed when it turned out to be bottom of the barrel trash.
On the bright side, I won't have to see that horribly cringey ad for it here anymore. |

ah, so that one is also generic light novel fantasy stuff ? too bad I ahve to wait a few more months until I am in the mood for a show like that, thanks for the recomendation. valk drive is not really generic fantasy stuff, it's more like a videogame adaptation; with that standar it's actually pretty nice, but the videogame adaptation bar is particularly low if you exclude visual novels. |

Overreact much? Nick clearly said that even on the fanservice aspects the show failed. This load of steaming horse crap is just another sad attempt in the past 2-3 years to capitalize and mass produce the "fanservicey harem set in a school type setting with magical elements" sub genre that is all the rage. This season we have THREE shows that fit that bill. Each one worse than the last. Hell, out of them the most redeeming quality of the 3 shows is the attention to detail and variety you see with the actual boobs and nipples. That's sad and hilarious at the same time. Basically everyone is trying to capture the magic and appeal that shows like High School DxD or Sekirei had. Most fail. Dragonar failed in epic proportions. Dragonar would've been better off just being a full on hentai title with tentacle rape and dragon sex because at least then it would've lived up to what the show was aiming for to begin with. No Dragonar is not Kids on the Slope or Sound Euphonium and should not be judged by the same criteria. However, as a fanservice harem show with T&A as the focus it still fails in every possible way compared to other shows that are about T&A as well. Even the boobs looked generic and bland and failed. When even the boobs fail and are uninspiring you know you've got a dud. |

Oh this series was so awful it made me physically angry but that's mostly for a host of other deep seeded reasons. If there were Razzies handed out for anime I'd hand this one for every category,.
It's as the review says it's a lazy fanservice show thrown off the assembly line of other lazy shows like it and I'm just waiting for the light novel bubble to finally burst. |

Look forward to watching this anime! Too bad that it didn't get a LE release but I know I'll enjoy it as I love everything and there's nothing I don't enjoy

Sums this up perfectly. While there were moments I enjoyed, they were few...and very far between. I guess that the only real positive I can say about this show, and more than likely a positive only for me, is that they spoiler[at least a very strong hint at a pairing being made by the end of it all. And, for me, that wins a good amount of points when dealing with a harem.] And, even though I love seeing that in these kind of shows, it's still not enough for me to tell others to check this show out. Many shows that involve this certain dynamic get massive boosts, in my eyes, when this happens. But, this one show was poor enough that even that boost could not overcome the bad that this show offered up. I will say, if the end of this series was attached to something like Unbreakable Machine Doll, then I would have a very typical harem show I would recommend to others. |

It did get an LE release. It comes in a plastic sleeve instead of a chipboard box. The clear plastic sleeve has the tentacles on that so they can be removed. Unfortunately if you remove the postcard art the plastic sleeve is too large to hold the Blu-ray case properly. |

Thanks! and oh yeah that's right I'm so used to the beautiful LE chipboard artboxes that when I read that it wasn't having that I forgot about the slipcover. I'll probably be waiting for the next RS funi sale but I'm definitely excited to pick this up. Does anyone happen to have any images of the LE or such? Seems pretty unique so mostly curious. |

Here is the slipcase It comes with six post cards of the female members of the cast in similarly tattered clothing. The post cards can be positioned to show instead of the case with the tentacles superimposed. Currently on TRSI the price differential is $3.50 extra for the LE. |
