Funny enough Sekai Project are publishing the Grisaia series in NA/EU and if the anime is anything to go by one of the games at least will feature underage sex/rape by a guardian figure (shown in a positive light) and a pedo ring of dirty old men for real and not just a mocked up scene.
I guess you haven't been watching the uncensored version of ToLoveRu Darkness 2nd, Shomin Sample or Mujaki no Rakuen then. Last edited by Escaflowne2001 on Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:03 am; edited 2 times in total |

Yeah I know, I already got corrected. I was too focused on the "point" of what we were saying, but I can accept when I've messed up, haha.

If you hate play asia there is Rice Digital uk that will sell the game too without import taxes. Indeed play asia play well here, but i appreciate the fact that they will release the game uncensored. Is good to have alternatives, and is 100 times better give my money to them rather than publisher that censor games like Sekai Project. {Please don't over-quote. Thanks. ~ Psycho 101} |

i dont hate them, i find them ridiculous for playing up a stereotype to get cash from people who don't really know what censorship is, and i find even more ridiculous the kinds of people who think they're doing some kind of justice by falling into their trap.

The Fruit of Grisaia on Steam is the "All-Ages" version of the game - the uncensored version is available on Denpasoft's website (who are really just the 18+ publishing wing of Sekai Project). The "All Ages" version on Steam has new scenes, is based on the JPN Vita version of the game (which had some small script changes from the original game - you'll have to search that information out, but I remember those changes being small from what I can recall people saying when I was trying to find out what those changes were earlier this year), and is only really missing the aforementioned "18+" scenes - characters still do and talk about the same things they did in the original game. If the "All Ages" version were to get rated by the ESRB, it would likely get a 'M' for Mature. Clannad on Steam is fully entact - it's the same experience you would get from playing the JPN version of the game. Clannad was always an "All Ages" title, therefore no censoring. Anything on Steam HAS to fit within their content guidelines, and this means that visual novels that originally contained "18+" or "H-scenes" will NOT contain that content if you buy it on Steam - if you want the "uncensored" experience for those titles, you'll have to buy directly from the people releasing them and do your own research to determine what the "original" versions of these games were (or hope for unofficial/official content patches). It honestly doesn't take long to search this information out - just look at a website like vndb and see what content was in the original and re-released versions of these games. |

Seems like a good way to make some cash. Make some dumb game, create a pointless controversy and play the poor censored victim and make a whole load of money off the people who will flock in to 'defend freedom of speech' for a game they wouldn't have even cared about otherwise. |

Only thing I can wonder is how they have been testing their games and such if something like this that they say they didn't want in the game got through. I know it's not something that is the easiest thing to find or whatever, but still. The game wasn't that expansive at launch, someone should have been able to see it you would think.

I'm just waiting for the "our media is being censored" argument to arise.
To be honest, I think that Sekai Project did a good move by removing it themselves, rather than having Steam find out and removing it because of content violation and being criticized for it. They should also allow an unedited version for purchase through their own site if people want it (though I do not think it would be appropriate due to the content and inferred situation of the scene, but I shouldn't judge people's tastes). |

I can't believe Goat Simulator got made, you know, because of all those into bestiality. The game I am currently playing has a male protagonist, does that mean I want to have sex with men? [gasp!] |

There is no such thing as bad publicity.
Who's spineless? The fear of your product being seen by child pornography is very real. |

I watched Jim sterling play this "game" and to be frank it's a piece of shite. Regardless of the material Yohjo Simulator is a broken mess that tries to cash in on goat simulator's success and fails. Honestly I'm glad it's gone from steam. Steam also needs to step in with some damn quality control to prevent shite like this from coming out.
