Can I choose Kaworu?
Expected to see One Punch Man in first, but somewhat surprised that Noragami Aragoto was second, since I wasn't seeing that much vocal hype surrounding it. Glad too, since it was one of my choices, and I hope the anime's even better than the first season.

Owarimonogatari 4th, not bad.
Is anyone here reading One Punch Man? I have no idea what it's about so the hype confuses me.

One punch man is a series about a man that defeats his enemies with a single punch.
Also he's a superhero, the comedy is great, and it’s known for somehow having a greater feeling of animation in manga form than many current shows.

I also second the notion to add Kaworu. (maybe the 'no answer' can be the Kaworu option)
also fun fact about the bishoujo angel figures - they were mostly, if not all, designed by Mine Yoshizaki (the Sgt. Frog guy). I've thought about buying a couple because I like his art-style actually

Basically, One Punch Man is a parody superhero manga. It started as a webcomic and was then adapted into a manga by Yuusuke Murata (the mangaka of Eyeshield 21, as well as others). The remake has amazingly high quality art and only gets updated rarely, largely as a result.
Anyway, the story takes place in a world reminiscent of a sentai show/super hero universe (city gets constantly attacked over and over again by monsters and super villains, so professional super heroes exist to take care of the problem. It's a bit like Tiger and Bunny, but less emphasis on the corporate aspects and more Justice League flavored), and is about a man, Saitama, who used to be a salaryman who got tired of his own weakness and trained so hard his hair fell out. Now he is a super hero as a hobby, and is so powerful he defeats any enemy in one punch, hence the name of the series.
It's an action comedy that leans quite a bit more into the comedy side of things. The series plays a lot with poking fun at the conventions of superhero fiction, and has well-written, appealing characters and stories. Common themes in it include natural talent vs. hard work, not judging someone based on their appearance, and the reason for doing the right thing.
That's probably a bit more info than you wanted, but now you know.
As for the poll, I'll pick actual best girl Misato. Fight me.

The correct answer to this week's poll is Maya.

Asuka for me since they were implied to be the next Adam and Eve during the End of Eva and because Rei is a semi-clone of Shinji's mom.

Quote: | Bishōjo Angel Figures |
I have these!! They were some of my first figures. The boxes really sold me on them - they came in an outside box covered in Bio hazard stickers and the inside box is like a test tube, and the stands are the Adam sample. They're kinda plain and all have the same general sculpt... (And two of them are Lilith and Tabris AKA Rei and Kaworu so they saved on the design there...) but they were like $15 each, so they were worth every penny and then some. Plus the opportunity to own a gender-bent Kaworu figure was priceless.
I also own the Rei Aphrodite prize figure. I really like all the 'weird' Eva crossover figures. They're so ridiculous it's fun. Maybe one day I'll get some more and make a proper collection of them.
Also, I don't care what Anno says, Rei will always be best girl (after Kaworu).

I guess that part of this week's poll is to make up our own question.**
I decided on "Who is your favorite girl in the franchise?"
I chose Asuka, but Misato was a very, very close second.
I went with Asuka because I apparently have a plug suit fetish, and a yellow dress fetish. I have to admit that my decision was heavily influenced by fan art.
** "Rei or Asuka?" actually is a question, but it is a bit ambiguous.

Not even slightly; Asuka was the first person among billions who could have potentially returned and happened to turn up next to Shinji. Them spending some time together at the end of the movie made the most narrative and thematic sense.
I think Kaworu is at least as valid an option as Misato, and I'd prefer to vote for Ramiel myself.

Regarding the Angel figures: from the description those are the ones that came in brown cardboard boxes labeled "biohazard" "Lab Samples" and "Infectious residuals". Wave put out a later series in clear plastic boxes. These included Shamshel with her electrified whips and Arael with a spear through her chest. There may have been more. Both were labeled "Blood Pattern Blue/Chromosome type XX".
As EVA figures go, those were not the strangest. That title would go to figures of Misato and Rei. Misato was in a skin tight black cat suit and Rei was in shorts and a cropped jacket with a scooter helmet and goggles. Both were showing extensive cleavage which was composed of a soft squishy plastic meant to be touched.

I think the Schick razor campaign with Gendō was the most peculiar commercial I have ever seen. I could hardly recognize him without his beard.
As for the poll, I voted for Asuka, if only for the reason that I enjoyed her tsundere side of her in the anime show of NGE.

For the Poll, I chose Ayanami Rei, because enough with the tsundere act; it's annoying and irritating.
As for the article itself, I would've added Gintama to it

I'm surprised at how little interest there is in Concrete Revolutio. It's a superhero series from the staff behind Fullmetal Alchemist.
