SNK has bad luck in the 3D Graphic department, however I hope that this time is the reverse.
Otherwise this looks nicely awfully decent as long as Gameplay goes.

I hope is not as rushed as KOF12 where they did not only forget K' and Mai, but also a freaking boss

not exactly a great demonstration. 3D would be fine if they did something like, say, GG Xrd's art style where is was 3D but was so committed to emulating sprites that they even skipped frames in order to make the models look like they were 2D. This is just 3D with no real style to it, which is a problem.

Yoooooooooo! Shocked

I hope this footage represents an early build for the game because the 3D models definitely need some work. Anyway, this is still good news.

Seems I have another reason to invest in a PS4.

Unlike previous attempts at 3D, I assume this one will be just like SFIV, 3D models fighting on 2D background. So it won't necessarily turn out as a disaster, but I'm still sad that they stopped using sprites. SNK had some of the best looking sprites back in the day, a shame they went this way.

The 3D seems decent; I hope it'll be great when it's all done.
Plus, I hope Mai Shiranui makes her reappearance here.

It looks like it was originally intended for the Vita.

The industry as a whole has move away from Sprite based character models.

Maybe it's because I never paid attention to fighting games until they mostly went with 3-D graphics...but what is the deal with fighting game fans' dedication to 2-D sprites?

I don't see this sort of thing in any other 2-D genre. No one complained when 2-D platformers became mostly 3-D graphics, for instance.

Ugh, they should've tried to imitate GGXrd's look instead of Tekken's.

Actually they did I know some people weren't too big on Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure in part for those very reasons.

I'm excited about a new KOF game......but I dunno about the visuals and the speed. I'm hopeful the game'll be good.

But those aren't 2-D platformers.

Hence the reason for those criticisms.
