I don't get why Lala isn't #1 on any of these lists. She has more appearances in Darkness than Haruna and she has more of an effort to be with Rito than Haruna.

So the west prefer Yui as a girlfriend while Japan prefers Haruna.
Both sides do agree of having Mikan as a sister and switching bodies with Golden Darkness.

Which is odd seeing that Yui is closer to an ideal wife (despite being a tsundere) than Haruna.

On my view of of Rito wanting Haruna, I will paste this post by zibi88 from p. 327 on AnimeSuki's manga thread for this series:

As someone who hasn't watched 'Darkness' and basing this off of seeing the first anime season a long time ago, I definitely agree with both the Japanese list and the ANN list. My favorite character have to be between Yui, Momo, and Mikan. Lala and Sairenji are also cool. For me, I'd personally choose Yui as my girlfriend/wife.

I think I'm more surprised that Risa is #2. I'm assuming something happens in 'Darkness' or in the manga that I don't know about, because I remember her as being a side character at best.
