A sci-fi series? That's new...

I wonder how long it might run for?

They didn't report it before though, so better late than never.

The question is whether or not it will be a success. One of the reasons why "Busso Renkin" didn't quite catch on was because it kept getting compared to "Rurouni Kenshin." You can also assume the reason why Akira Toriyama hasn't done a full series in a long time because "Dragon Ball" would be a tough act to follow.

I think so too, except he does a retcon/remakes the ending where she and Boruto are from NaruSaku happening.

Two weeks is a bit much - the magazine came out four days ago. But we wanted to get the magazine ourselves and take the time to translate the pertinent section properly. Our Japanese correspondents were busy with other events, and we also had some trouble finding the magazine, hence the delay.

I would not be against sci-fi ninjas if that's the direction Kishimoto takes.

I still think that Kishimoto should have kept the same world, but tossed it far into the future to depict the evolution of ninja magic.

No, Sakura never loves Naruto. He can just write Himawari bullies kids at school and bullies his brother at home. It would a comedy and slice of life manga.

No, Sakura did have feelings for Naruto (ch. 295 or 296 confirms it by Yamato).

Kewlness, Kishimoto-san! Looking forward to it! Probably won't come close to surpassing Naruto....but good luck.

I would've preferred he make a Western, but hey, this is fine too.

On the other hand, Bakuman. went on for a while being something totally different from Death Note, and Hunter x Hunter got itself a stable audience without having to be Yu Yu Hakusho.

As long as it looks sufficiently different, feels different, and they don't play up "from the author of Naruto!," it'll be fine.

I'm placing my bets on his new MC being female.

I'm just so happy that he's not continuing Naruto. That would be terrible. I'll make sure to give his new series a chance. Hopefully he improves his writing skills though!
