Let's think positive: maybe they'll shoot one of those "edited some live footage together to create a video clip for the song" thing, and they want the lasses to wear a 2-piece.

That and, at concerts, everyone closer to the stage are typically in those mosh pits with people jumping up and down. So, yeah f**k these guys. I still like the openings to Kuroko's Basketball but just f**k them. Look I already know where this thread is going. "Ooh no one would care if it was a female band asking male fans to wear thongs" No it's still awful to demand your fanbase to wear little to no clothing. It's sexists both ways and disgusting for musicians to take advantage of others just because they are popular. No one should emulate this a**hole. "Ooh but fan girls reveal their skin all the time at concerts-indoor and outdoor" Yeah because THEY CHOOSE TOO!!! No one demanded them to wear swimsuits or used their bodies as leverage for better seat access. They have the decision making skills to decide what makes them comfortable in a concert venue NOT the band members. GRANRODEO and their affiliates should be ashamed of themselves. I'd be pretty pissed to have to wear something like this to a concert.... that said I'd totally want to be at that concert.

Why is that positive? That they thought "lets pick a dress code that ensures girls who aren't too prudish but aren't too slutty either end up on camera without us having to pay extras?" edit: I'd think this was just a poor attempt at a lighthearted joke if Japanese agencies didn't have several layers of middle aged men in suits between the talent & the audience. If the dress-code were for both male and female attendees it'd be fine (it'd still be icky to demand your fans to dress a particular way if they want to be in premium spots on the concert venue, but it'd be less awful if it was all fans), but this is disgusting and feels like a slap at the female fanbase, especially because they're even trying to force a specific swimwear as opposed to letting the fans (who are bleeping paying for those tickets) choose. Considering the band is very popular among females due to their contributions to KuroBas it feels twice as spiteful and awful. Screw them. I hope no one buys those stupid tickets. Heck, I wish the fans would boycott this stupidity and that no one goes to their "celebration".

I suppose that could be the case. When making music videos they often do involve crowd shots and especially if they want the video to have a certain theme. But I doubt that's the case here, which makes the whole thing kind of creepy and exploitative. |

Didn't Kana Hanazawa have a concert only for female fans? I also don't see how a swimsuit makes a difference. Any female who wants to go should be allowed to wear whatever she wants, including the required swimsuit. If you don't want to wear it, don't go. No one's asking you to go naked.

Yeah, that request is dumb. Perverts are everywhere, and asking girls to wear bikinis in a concert is like asking those perverts to go there and be perverts. Is that concert even going to be placed in a beach?
No, they've just been stupid asking stupid things. Dumb, dumb, dumb. |

@chito895: It's occurring to me that maybe this is a gimmick from the band hoping to sell more tickets to men that buy them knowing they'll be in close-proximity with girls in bikini. I don't know if that's the intention, but it's gross regardless.
@Peter Newell Many artists have had female-only venues, but none of them required a specific dress-code. It baffles me that you can't see the problem here. This band is having a concert. People are paying to see them, because they want to see them live. And some people are paying a special extra to be in a special location. But if you're a female and want to be in that special location you must be willing to walk in there with 70% of your body exposed. "If you don't want to show, don't go"? That's horrible. Why would a woman have to prance around half naked in a public environment, probably in the midst of a crowd that will udoubtedly include men, just to stand closer to a band she's paying to see? There are women who'll have no problem showing their body or walking around in a bikini, and that's fine, more power to them. But this band has no [expletive] right to demand people dress in a specific way to go watch them. As someone else said, they are not being given a choice. It's go bikini or don't go at all. How can someone doubt that this is horrible? |

Color me surprised it's a man saying this. "If you don't want to be ogled, you don't have to go!" I could cut myself on the edginess. |

Make sure you're wearing a reasonably classy two piece when you do. |
