Wow, Yowamushi Pedal is a big surprise. Hopefully it will do well and publishers can finally see sports manga as a viable option for licensing in English.

Yowamushi Pedal is getting released, in manga form, in English... Hazarhhh for sports manga! This is a huge but pleasing suprise. Now Yen Press, all you need to do is pick up Haikyuu Wink spoiler[I wouls also wish for Oofuri but thats never going to happen.]

Honestly, I never even thought Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun would be considered, let alone licensed. I liked the anime, might give the manga a shot. Really hope it does great on this side of the globe.

I never thought Yowapeda would see an English release. Great news. Glad Nozaki-kun has been picked up too, it was one of my favourite shows when it aired. The author seems to have hit her stride much more than with Oresama Teacher, which I read 4 volumes of and gave up on because I just didn't find it funny.

Sakura: Nozaki-kun makes sense, 'cus it's short. But betting on Yowamushi is insane. Especially since the anime, in its current form, feels like it wrapped up the main story pretty nicely. And I'm not sure if it'll actually hold up beyond that.

But, yeah, you Pedalheads need to spread the word to your bike hipster friends and acquaintances, because sports manga and anime is such a hard sell here.

YP licensed YP!

Really surprised we're getting sports manga now. I was happy with just anime releases! Yen Press has released a sports series or two in the past, but as far as I know they were more focused on romantic relationships, with the sport as a vehicle/setting. Yowamushi is long, popular, and sports-focused.

Assuming that it does well for them, Yowa Peda will certainly take them a long time to translate for Yen Press.

Wow, Yen Press is certainly ambitious, releasing a long-running sports manga like this. My first instinct is to worry, with sports manga not selling well and all, but Yen Press probably knows what it's doing. The market has probably changed a lot as well.
Also, yay for Nozaki-kun!

Like the pick up but wish all were in print. I don't like digitally only releases, but o well most likely get them anyways.
