And then the next week will be 9pm, following with 9:30pm, and so on.

The plan to get rid of King of the Hill might work.

obvious joke guys.

Just to make it clear, this is not Toonami related and likely has nothing to do with Toonami. It's just an experiment.

So, we're getting our own Dream/Strong 9 block, but with reruns.

Dragon Ball and One Piece back to back like they were always meant to be. Can we call this the 'Cross Epoch' hour?

That's certainly a nice surprise. I hope it can net some new viewers even if it's right in the middle of Enies Lobby.

I feel like this is why Toonami was cut so short so that there won't be 'too much anime' all in one night. Idk, just a feeling, but I hope it goes well for them, but since it isn't considered part of Toonami does this mean it won't even help them any if it does go well?

I hope this experiment goes well. One Piece was not something I expected to be put there before Naruto though.

a little surprising that it's One piece they're using for that slot, it really hasn't been the best in the Toonami ratings

Makes me wonder what experiment they are going for. Unless this is just Funi wanting more out of their shows or something, what is it for Adult Swim to be doing this? Maybe add anime for just Adult Swim and not Toonami? Move Toonami earlier in some way? Or just trying to get the ratings up for One Piece later on in the night? But that's more for Funi's interest, I suppose. Nevertheless, hope things work well for One Piece in that slot.

My friend loves One Piece (I do too... but I have the DVDs so I don't care), but she often misses episodes because she often falls asleep before it's on so she always complains... So I know she'll love this news...

Chances are the experiment is to see if Kai and One Piece are better transitions from Cartoon Network, since the 8:00 PM block ratings wise hadn't been doing so well for adult swim. Kids have seen DBZ Kai on Nicktoons and Vortexx and they might just be old enough to want to see it uncut and I guess they figure One Piece might grab their interest too.

This could mean 2 things.
1. They're just trying to boost One Piece's ratings and even DBZ
2. They're planning on making the 8-9 slot the rerun slot, while Toonami eventually/finally premieres the Brand New dubs of DBZ Kai and One Piece in the near future.

I Sure hope it's the 2nd one. At least for DBZ.

Gotta start putting "obvious joke" at the end of my posts now.

Since it's separate from Toonami, seems they trying to see if DBZ Kai and One Piece could hook enough their own demographics that's not necessarily the same as in Toonami (that is, young casual fans, not the usual fans).

DBZ Kai most likely can, since it's already mainstream well-known series. Guess they're trying to see if One Piece can pick up some of that too. Then they can treat that hour as its own block with its own audience, separate from Toonami.

Crunchyroll, what do you have to say to this?
