Yay! I've only watched 3 episodes so far, but if I keep liking it this announcement definitely put it on my must buy list.

Holy...
That's...fast, considering the April turnaround. The only physical dub release I've seen come close to this was Kill la Kill's July 2014 release. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more dubs, but I don't know how they're gonna pull this off.

As good as Yuki Yuna is, it is a shame that it was one of the least watched shows of the Fall season since too many people passed over it thinking it to be a generic anime original slice life, since that is how it was advertised at the beginning of the Fall season.

So does Denki-gai get a dub? (I'm guessing not, since Yuki Yuna was mentioned to have "Japanese and English" and Denki-gai was only said to have "Japanese.")
Pretty strange for one to get an English dub and the other not to.

My guess is that Yuki Yuna is already finished, dub and all, and now they'll release the series bit by bit. Since its localization is by a company on the Japanese production committee, I'm sure they could just create the English audio at the same time as the Japanese audio

Like I wrote in the solicitations thread,
So, this is basically a Japanese, limited edition single with twice the number of episodes. I am not that bothered by the price because it at least comes with a BD version.
I have no idea if Ponycan USA is going to succeed, but very expensive singles is a terrible way to introduce themselves to the NA market. $100 for the whole series with all the fancy packaging would have been a smarter strategy.
I suppose the inclusion of a dub for Yuki Yuna might soften the pocket blow for some. Still, both sets are very expensive. It would have been nice if Ponycan had also released standard editions at $30-35 a piece.

Assuming 3 sets of 4 episodes, $269.94 for all 12 episodes. For such a lackluster show, this is really insane. I feel bad for anyone who would buy this without knowing how average the show is.

While I don't really care for these two shows I'm hoping PonyCanyon USA will release Amaburi LE set. It was my favorite show from Fall and I really want to own it and support Gatoh.

Yeah, it's much more impressive than Funimation's simulcast dubs.
Wait, you're impressed by... I don't know what. A mock Japanese release is getting a few episodes dubbed? They'll have the rest of it done by the end of the year? That a new company is dubbing a series with dubious popularity in a singles format that is prone to declining sales for subsequent volumes?
Look, if Sentai and Funimation charged 80 dollars per four episodes, they'd be allowed to release them at the same time as the Japanese versions... ok, maybe a month later. 80 per two episodes, yeah, that'd be "same day" release.
I wonder if 80 dollars an episode would warrant a next week physical copy. Eventually, people will learn what's actually holding up western anime releases and not be amazed at what passes quickly.
We're going backwards with every new release these days. What is going on?

I liked the show, but that pricing is not going to fly for me.
I don't know of anything else that can be said about using the Japanese Anime pricing model in the US. Yes, It will make money because of the hard core demand, but it's my firm belief that as a long term strategy it is doomed to failure. The thing that concerns me is that it may pull the existing US distributors , Funimation, Sentai, NISA and even RightStuf, down with it when it inevitably sinks.
I'd get out the Popcorn and watch the fireworks as Pony Canyon tries to make this one fly, but I don't have the heart for it.

Oh my that Yuki Yuna is a Hero looks lovely, I adored the series and that price is very reasonable for what you get. Don't particularly care about the English dub but it's fab news for those who wanted one.
Hope this type of release sells well for Pony Canon as I'd love future shows in this style of release.

An english dub sounds nice, I love dubs, but... the pricing on these sets is insane. I like Denki-gai, but that price for only the first 4 episodes is just ridiculous, I can buy multiple complete series from that amount of money.
Not worth it.

There's nothing "reasonable" about that price.
As much as I adore this series and would love to hear it dubbed, no series is worth $90 for four episodes, no matter what it has for extras. That's triple what 3-5 episode sets cost in the heyday of singles, and inflation has been nowhere near that heavy in the last few years.
If this was even down in $50 range I'd curse PC for its pricing policy but grit my teeth and bear it.

I'm sure these sets will at least do decently because they are PONYCAN's first release and people want to see what they have to offer, but I'm going to have to finish watching YuYuYu before I can even begin to seriously contemplate buying these.
I don't think releasing in singles like this is a good idea for Aniplex or PONYCAN. The price is high and you have to buy the series more times. The fact this is a 12 episode, one-cour show split into three sets is off putting. When you compare the SRP to the Kill la Kill and Sword Art Online first half sets, it's more expensive, and those actually have two more episodes. Denki-gai is probably even worse, so it's not going to looking good when they come out more expensive Aniplex USA.
