Fitting they would include Kaito Kid as the new TV series will have ended just a few weeks before the movie premieres.

From the verbiage of the quote, I was under the impression that the destruction of one of the "Sunflowers" paintings was a plot device. But, apparently, this is accurate and one of these paintings was destroyed by fire in August 1945.

Interesting. This is the first time I've heard anything about artwork being destroyed or looted in Japan during WWII. All I've ever heard about was what was pilfered in Europe.
