Nice. I've been surprised at how solid this title is in the story-telling department considering I assumed it was just going to be a brainless ecchi thing (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I haven't seen Blade and Soul, but I agree about Chaika, and Brynhildr. Those shows deserve a western release! I imagine they will be coming soon enough though. |

I'm trying to watch this show, and can't bring myself to watch the latest episode. Not that its bad, its better than an anime adaptation of a MMO by GONZO has any right to be, but the first 3 episodes left so little of an impact on me that I just can't continue.

Is it just me or is Sentai licensing anime at a much slower pace than usual?

based on what the social media guy says on facebook, they've probably had the majority of these shows for weeks, and are only announcing they have them whenever they feel like it |

Yeah, it does seem like they're announcing stuff a lot slower than they have before. They've picked up some good shows this season at least. |

By this time last year, Sentai/Maiden Japan had announced 30 new licenses. This year, they've announced only 13 (counting Blade & Soul).

Someone has to keep Funi honest and, honestly, Sentai is our best hope for that. Ever since Funi became the "lone anime superpower" they've been slacking off. "Once you're at the top, the only way to go is down". This show was just so "meh" that I too am mystified as to why Sentai picked this one up. Not only are there better shows from this season to pick up but there are better shows from prior seasons to grab. On the plus side, despite "going last" in the anime draft, Sentai has managed to snag some of the most lauded titles of this season. Funimation has a whopping 0 of them, though that might be a bit bogus as the hype for Funi shows seems to be lower, likely due to their shows often being a PITA to stream. |

According to Sentai's newsletter, it seems they have three licenses left to announce. The question is whether they are from this season or older, like Love Lab.

They still have 3 more licenses to announce according to their email newsletters. And since the publishers are neutral between Sentai, Funi, Viz, etc. There is a possability they will pick those up. Plus they have basically licensed the majority of top anime this season. But that does not mean that supposed crap shows from your tastes are to be ignored. I enjoy Blade&Soul because it reminds me of some Funi licensed echii action shows, but with more dignity on the fanservice. Critically, its garbage.
Oh lighten up. Besides, they been doin shit on what to dub for the case of popularity. So it could probably get sub release, just for your ears to be spared. |
