Well, this is quite interesting. I like this series, I'm playing Dual Destinies now. To be honest, I don't know that I like this 19th century thing or not, if we can use Ryuunosuke's katana, it'll be awesome! Looking forward to it.

Yep, thats exactly what I thought when I read "will be set in the 19th century in Meiji-era Japan".

They'll just rename setting into Independence War or Civil War. Ace Attorney series translation is already one of the most idiotic lies ever, it's not that something can make the situation worse.

I guess they're taking a cue from the Yakuza games.

Localization might not be likely not just due to the setting, but also for it being a game without Phoenix. I'd like to be wrong, though.
I'm excited to see what Takumi can do after being away from the series for so long. Probably won't have to deal with the same kind of interference that Capcom had with Apollo Justice.
Okay, that last panel is kinda wonderful.

But isn't their judicial system different then?

On the super slim chance this makes it over to the west, it would be interesting to see what they do.
I'll miss Athena, Apollo, and Phoenix, though. I was hoping to see Athena spearhead more cases in the next game.
I honestly wouldn't mind if the Dual Destinies team took over the main franchise and Takumi started this one, but that's probably not the popular opinion.

Five bucks says Phoenix swoops in during the last act and steals the spotlight from the lead.

They actually are working on Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney 6 right now; this is more of a spin-off. The news that Yamazaki's team was working on the next installment came out at the same time as the announcement that Takumi was working on this, described at the time as a "different kind of Ace Attorney game".

Oh, that's great! Thanks for the heads-up, I must have forgotten.
I wonder how AA5 sold in the US and EU? I know it was at the top of the eshop lists for a seriously long time, but I'm not sure if Capcom released any sales figures. Hopefully it sold well enough for us to get AA6.

Hopefully we do get a translation. Surely if all those Hakuoki games can make it over then this could. Unless Capcom insists on being idiots still...

It would be, wouldn't it? PW says up front in the very first game that the whole "trials have to be 3 days long" thing was a recent change to the judicial system.
