Took the survey, can't wait to see what's going to come out of this.

I actually don't mind the ads that are run on ANN at all to be honest, most of the ones I receive are all relevant to anime.
I use to have ANN ads blocked with adblocker but since I saw they only run 2-3 ads anyway and I haven't feel like they've been annoying or invasive (except for when I accidental click the two background ads on the side, which happens quite frequently).

I answered that I disabled the adskins. I know I had a reason for doing so. Now when I re-enable them to see if I can figure out what it was, I can't seem to find the current one annoying in the least. So whatever bug in the redesign broke them for me is no longer valid and they're back. Carry on.
EDIT: Now I remember. Sometimes the skin gets on top of the forum text. Very aggravating.

I am a subscriber and have them blocked, but that's because 99% of them are for North American releases which are of no interest or use for me.

Didn't even know you had any. Have AdBlock. They're pretty much useless for me anyway, being from Europe.

The subscription awareness question could use something like "Yes, and I've been meaning to subscribe" as an option, if it's not too late. Because I saw that question and went "oh yeah, subscriptions, I should do that."
Oh and then I totally did.

You're missing an option "Yes, I know about subscribing, but I don't PayPal so I can't get rid of the ads other than by using ABP.".
And even then the ad skins still mess with the layout of the site and I have to reset it to my preferred skin every other day.

Yeah, I would have liked some other "Yes, but not a subscriber" options as well. Yes, I know about it. Yes, I'm kind of interested. But no, I don't subscribe right now. Yeah, it's really cheap and I love the website and should support it, but it is still money that needs to be prioritized. I'll probably get a subscription eventually.
Anyway, more on the actual subject, I actually disable ad block plus for ANN so that I can support it. Visually, I don't mind the ad skins, they're usually relevant and visually attractive for the most part. The only part that I find annoying is when I click on the side of the web page, thinking I'm clicking somewhere safe so I can start scrolling down the page, only to find out that I'm clicking on an ad by accident. My home computer is really slow and clicking on something can really be disrupting. That's the only real issue I have with it.

I'll third the problem with the question on subscriptions not giving a "Yes but I'll think about subscribing again" option.
Also, the skins don't work for me even though my adblocker is turned off for ANN and Noscript is set pretty much the same way, at least in Firefox. I do see them if I boot up Chrome or use my phone to visit the site but I don't use any script blockers on those two. With Firefox, I do run into a page or two that I still have somethings showing up as blocked with Noscript but even when I turn it off when I discover that, I don't get the skins. What I get is solid colors that underpin the skins. I find that just as annoying.
As for subscriptions - I'm still not sure I want to subscribe. Would it really change anything? Plus you have to stay logged in on all your devices to make it work right and that's a mini hassle in and of itself. Not to mention, if you stay logged in, you always lose what the unread messages are. Or should I say you use to but since the last major site update, that function in the forms hasn't worked no matter what anyway?
Now there is something positive to say about the current website and I do want you to know about it. I find ANN to work very well on my new iPhone. I can read the site well and even read the forms in a decent layout and font size! Funimation, TAN and Fandom Post might like to take a note on that one, IMO

I hate them so much. I wouldn't mind them, but I keep accidentally clicking them and opening new tabs, which is why I hate them so much.

I really don't mind the ad skins, except occasionally when I decide to check out the latest news on my lunch break and discover that the skin of the day is NSFW.
(No, unfortunately, I can't remember any specific examples off the top of my head. It's been a while since the last one, I think. Perhaps ANN has already tightened its standards for the skins, in which case, my belated thanks.)

I know about subscribing (though not all the perks, I guess) but am still pondering. Interested, but unsure.
I don't mind the ads, and keep my adblock turned off when on ANN. The only annoyance is that I tend to accidentally click them, but that's not really anyone's fault or problem other than my own.

I agree with this exactly, pretty much have the exact same opinion.

Can you post a screenshot of this and tell us what browser/OS you are using? We've never heard of this problem.
