the regretfully unlicensed karuta anime Chihayafuru

It's licenced in Australia. I saw part 1 and 2 DVDs at Wai-con and the local DVD store. Sub, no dub.

It is licensed in the US too. You can watch it on Crunchyroll. (A streaming license is a license, none-the-less.)

One new voice actress who I remember liking was Sarah Emi Bridcutt. I haven't watched a show with her in it since, but I hope her career continues to rise.

She's going to be in Date A Live 2 this Spring. Her name is really interesting though.

The only person I recognize in this list is Mikako Komatsu, but she's one voice actress I really respect. Going from Kotori in YuGiOh Zexal to Mariko in Moretsu Pirates? awesome. As for the poll, I chose a mix of new and old, although to be honest I have difficulty in recognizing Japanese VA's. Only ones I can recognize are Kanae Ito, Aki Toyosaki, Marina Inou, the girl who voices Kuroki in Railgun, the guy who voices the Kappa in Arakawa in the bridge, the guy who voices the protagonist of Bakemonogatari, Arakawa, and Zetsubo Sensei, and Souichiro Hoshi. Oh, and the girl who voices Dekomori.
English, on the other hand, I can recognize plenty of VA's.

As for fave VA's/roles:
Kanae Ito as Sena from Haganai
Souchiro Hoshi as Tomoki from Heaven's Lost Property
Chris Sabat in Speed Grapher
Monica Rial in Tower of Druaga, Okamisan, and Panty and Stocking
Kira Vincent Davis as Osaka in Azumanga Diaoh
also like and respect Rie Tanaka, Yui Horie, and Megumi Hayashibara

I've got a question. Do any of these voice actresses know English? I'd love to see one of them come to the United States and do an American cartoon.

I was wondering about that. kinda shocked she wasnt included in the list.

Wow, I didn't even know that Maaya Uchida was a voice actress, just looking forward to a song to be released on 23 April 2014 from her:

"Riddle Story of Devil (Akuma no Riddle) (Anime)" Intro Theme: Sosho Innocence
