You could see this movie, or you could just digitally place guns in everyone's hands in Groundhog Day.

Asher: Meh, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time predates Groundhog Day.

Yeeeeah. I'm super glad I read the last couple weeks of the manga already.
Though... it was kind of a predicable twist...
That all being said.... this doesn't actually feel that far off base from the manga. Clearly Americanized, but not enough to kill its core ideas at least.
The Mimics looks super generic though. But I can understand why spike ball monsters might not go over well with mass audiences.
EDIT: Also, did they steal Battle LA's trailer music?

The story's pretty predictable in general. It's the execution which makes it intriguing.

I wanna read the manga but I've been avoiding all the stuff to do with the movie, mainly because i dislike tom cruise.

Ramm: It's based off a novel. The manga's the adaptation. And apparently the selling point for haters is that Cruise gets killed a lot in the pic. Me, I liked the source material, and I appreciate that they're actually trying to do it justice, instead of giving us another Dragon Ball: Evolution.

This looks pretty great.
If you're a big fan of the manga (so far, like me, you're probably lucky that you read the last three chapters before this came out

I like how, in the trailer, Rita is all surprised about how he knows where to shoot without even looking to kill the aliens and then the next thing we hear is "Come find me when you wake up!" which tells us she already knew. Why bother to act surprised at all?
Also I miss the Axe, the Axe was badass.

Its probably trailer cutting trickery. His killing the Mimic without looking is probably what clues her in on that he's looping. Which is why she's nonpluses when she tells him to find her when he wakes up. Because she knows how it works.

It looks like they're using axe-like blades in the trailer.

No shit!
What's wrong with being attracted to drawings?
I don't see why people are complaining about this. Let me counter that argument by reminding you that whoever you see on your monitor, is still only a bunch of pixels in front of you.

Because it sets an unrealistic expectation for real women, like Chipp12 just did with the actress in this film.

I gotta admit they could've cast a more comely actress, but the studio was probably concerned about being accused of objectifying whoever played the part-since there is some implied leering in the book. Basically, the studio wanted to sell the concept to audiences outside of the "bro" demo. With a story like this, it's feasible, but Yukikaze might be a bit more challenging.

Yes, because women never do the same thing with guys through their own entertainment choices.
