The worst show of the year? Voting for Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! without a second thought. This show is just outright porn. Karuta gets Chihayafuru, Go gets Hikaru no Go, Football gets Giant Killing, Shougi gets Shion no OU. And then wresling gets to do with this vapid excuse of a show.

laughing man and no motoko, she's almost as good a ahcker as him plus she does most of her hacking while doing other stuff like runing and shooting.

I was going to vote Flowers of Evil as worst, but then decided that it really wasn't an anime that I'd normally be following, so it stands to reason that I didn't like it. Instead it made more sense to pick a show that I should have enjoyed, but still hated, and so Little Busters Refrain gets the nod for me. Riki is the worst Key protagonist I've ever seen, and frankly I just want to see him fail. So, this show gets the tag of the worst because I expect much better out of a Key property.

I think we can all agree here that Oreimo 2 was the worst show of the year. Nothing can possibly top that.

My biggest disappointment of the year that I actually followed up on was Daybreak illusion, and even then I still couldn't call it out for a worst of list.

Diabolik Lovers is one of the worst anime I've ever seen. I've never seen so much metaphorical rape in one place. The possible harm the show could cause (reinforcing a lack of need for consent as somehow sexy) overwhelms, to me, shows that are just bad on storytelling or artistic grounds.

That was what I was thinking too. Motoko and the Laughing Man are both awesome! On another note, just looking at the sheer number of titles on that list to choose from makes me happy. Its good to see so many titles coming out, period. Even if there were a few entirely crappy ones. Oreimo 2 Freezing Vibration Wanna be the Strongest in the World .... I'm not sure which of those to vote for.... :/ |

Freezing 2nd season was at least (mostly) accurate to the source material, and if you watched the first season you knew what you were getting into so you only have yourself to blame this time around.

True enough. I have a problem(albeit, an entirely personal problem) where I HATE dropping a show, so that hopefully explains that. On the flip side, I actually thought it had potential if they stopped with the melodramatic high school romance, but that was kind of unlikely to begin with. As another note, I've only seen like 11-12 shows from this year, since my backlog is so big, so I'm sure there are worse ones out there. |

Motoko does some hacking on occasion, and she's pretty good at it, but you wouldn't really describe her to someone as being a hacker, she's the lead for an elite spec-ops team. On the other hand, you definitely would say that about the Laughing Man, though, since being a hacker is basically what he's all about. |

For all the anime I've watched the only hacker I could think of was Akira from Valvrave so glad she's on the list.
As for worst anime of the year. Only 2 contenders for me out of all the shows I've seen this year, Ai Mai Mi and Kill La Kill. I laughed twice while watching Ai Mai Mi so my vote goes to Kill La Kill which so far has yet to have any redeemable qualities. Actually that's a lie, the girl who fights with music was good for a time. |
