Fun Fact:

This show got an R18+ in Australia for some reason. Apparently the gap between ecchi and hentai doesn't exist anymore.

Parallel worlds and far-out psychology are usually a sign of a deep, intriguing story...

You think so? I think it's just as often a sign of pompous gobbledygook.

My goodness, an ANN reviewer (in a full-length anime review) actually hated something for once? Incredible. It must be a sign of good tidings.

I myself never made it to the plot twist in episode four; just the first three episodes gave me the hives. It doesn't look like I missed much.

I'm pretty sure that scene in episode 8 exists on the hentai side of that gap.

To be fair even I hated this series and actually dropped on it's 3rd episode. You know that i'm very open minded when it comes to bottom of the barrel stuff, but this wasn't even in the ****** barrel.

More of a sign that we seem to have far fewer reviews lately from Carlo Santos on mediocre to bad series. He has trashed plenty of things in the past from what I remember.

At times, this article sounded like a personal rant...

If you had bothered to actually READ the article, he slammed it mostly due to reasons completely unrelated to the fanservice. In fact, he said the fanservice could've been the show's saving grace, but it too was done poorly.

HAHA WOW I knew this website wouldn't give the show a good review, but Carlo Santos just rips this poor thing to shreds, just... ouch...

Regardless of what anything this review (which might as well be a rant) says, I did thoroughly enjoy this show. It throws you for a loop at first but its characters and scenario were just such a pleasure to watch and seeing the story unfold was great. Can't say the animation was the best but it was nowhere near as bad as this review implies.

Personally I'd say it deserved better, but hey... that's just my opinion. Razz

All I ask is that anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in the show, don't let this review scare you away from trying it out.

Carlos' opening paragraph is the perfect way to start a review of this series. I picked this series up after people expressed interest in the plot twist. For some reason, I stuck with it --- there really does seem to be some promise in the mess.

It's not hard to imagine this being a wonderful anime in the right hands --- Ryuutarou Nakamura, perhaps, could have created a brilliant sequel to Colorful (the ecchi voyeurfest of five-minute episodes, not the recent movie).

Or imagine the colorful, thought-provoking mess Kenji Nakamura could have made of this.

Or put it in the hands of Kyoto Animation's Ishihara (imagine the idea-hash of this series being given the Nichijou treatment).

Those would have been series to see....

Well to be absolutely correct R18+ is still a film category not porn. Porn is X18+. The few hentai released in AU have been rated R18+ simply because they were heavily edited and if rated X they would never sell. They didn't sell well as R either for that matter, given Siren stopped releasing them.

There are a couple of things that will almost guarantee a high-rating, particularly if there is suggestive stuff for an apparently young character. I have no idea on the content of this show, but Azumanga Daioh got MA15+ solely because of that pervert teacher.

Sounds like it got the rating for sex scenes "High impact sexual themes, animated nudity and sex scenes". Must be fairly explicit as simply having sex usually gets MA15+. Basically it means R18+ is where a borderline-h show should be, if that is indeed what this is. And from what I have heard, it is.

This show... I have no idea what they were trying to do. What genre was it? What was the plot? What the hell was going on? Don't get me wrong, I like me some fanservice, but it need to make sense. At least in it's own crazy world, it need to make sense.

PS: Wait! This was about spoiler[parallel universes? I though it was about the guy's delusions that created all these separate personas because he didn't want to face the world].

Well the only bit i do know is that it's based on off a visual novel/eroge that takes around 50 hours or more to finish. Given how long the VN is, I highly doubt they stuck to much of the source material when doing the adaption. Then again I could be wrong, there is no fan translation out for this VN nor is anyone working on one and the VN it's self has drm.
