Once again, the fansubs are chock full of translation errors...
The most glaring one is that they translated chromoly (a type of lightweight steel; the kind used in steel road bikes) as "Kuromori." If you're wondering how they can just spoiler[ "give" him a road bike, it's because they didn't give it to him, it's an "indefinite rental." Plus, the bike is made out of leftover used parts. He's saving up for his own bike. ] The translation totally missed this, but Sugimoto said spoiler[ he could "go another 2-3 km/h faster, and then the baseball kid claimed he could do another "5 km/h, (although he might have only said that in the manga) " which is why Imaizumi said that he and Naruko could do another 20 km/h. If you go by the numbers on their cycle computers, they were only doing about 16 MPH... which is super slow. Doing 28 MPH, which is what Imaizumi claimed, based on those numbers, is really fast for a sustained effort.] Also, (manga spoilers) spoiler[ the tennis kid quits and joins the tennis team, the ex-baseball player doesn't but he also doesn't show up at the training camp which is the next arc... and AFAIK he might not show up again. Also, Sakamichi catches up and beats them to the top of the hill climb, but doesn't finish the race. ] |

Those aren't fansubs that got it wrong, they're Crunchyroll's own subs. On another note, a good drinking game is to take swig every time someone says "road racer" in episode six. You'll likely be passed out before the end. |

Given that you're familiar with the Manga I have no doubt that you could translate the terminology better than whomever is currently translating for CR.

By the way, this is the real-life recovery van...aka the broom wagon... hehehe Oh, I forgot to mention that the reason that Sakamichi is wearing a cycling club jersey is because the 3rd-years "couldn't stand to see him (race) in what he was wearing." Riding 60 km without a proper cycling shorts would be MURDER on your taint, though... |

I rode 60 km in regular jeans and was totally fine. |

Were you racing at the time, or going for a scenic ride? I'm no racing expert but I'd imagine going all out would create sweat problems and whatnot. |

Then you must be totally numb below the waist. There's the sweat, but primarily it's the pressure of the saddle pinching nerves and blocking blood flow, the pressure and friction of the seams of your clothing, as well as the friction of your thighs against the saddle. Which is why cycle shorts are padded and skin-tight and made out of sweat-wicking fabric, and why cyclists ride commando. |

spoiler[Onoda finally got the chance to enjoy himself to the fullest! It was inspiring to watch him ride with such passion. I really admire his willpower. He knows what he wants and he will chase it. Onda was very persistent to catch up. Awesome episode!] |

The latest episode felt a little slow me but Sakamachi sure is catching up fast! Lol @ the girl with the cap that says CAP though.

I managed to ride on my rollers for the whole episode... ok, until the ending, at least. My floor is wet now...
I had no idea the girl in that scene was in the opening. I think her hat is supposed to say GAP, but it looks pretty close to CAP even in the manga. She hasn't reappeared in the manga as of yet though, but I've only read up to Vol 11. |

Episode 7
Erabe! I laughed at that bit, it sounded perfect, reminded me of what happens on Noucome. He obviously did not realize that choice two is almost always worse than the first, although it probably won't. Man it got hot blooded. |

Did the team captain just cheat to help him catch up? That shaved a couple minutes off their time at least.

spoiler[I gotta hand it to Onoda. That kid never gives up on his goals. It was nice seeing Naruko & Imaizumi show their skills as well. But their skills were outshined by Onoda's enthusiasm. He does it with ease, not matter how hard it is. Guess all those trips to Akiba on the mommy bike were very productive in every way. That Onoda is just full of pleasant surprises. Very intense episode!] |

"During brutal races that take days, like the Tour de France, some athletes show unbelievable improvement. The moment a mere also-ran becomes an ace... That is a race."
No Imaizumi, that is called doping. But otherwise, great episode. Hopefully this practice run will finish next episode. |
