I forgot that this needed to be rescued. Glad to see it's getting re-release. I have yet to sit down and watch this series.

Yay! This is great news. I feel like it's never been a better time to be an otaku.

I've only seen the 1st 4 episodes but enjoyed them.
I heard of the series by chance on TV Tropes. It's fitting that my Girlfriend is called Nadia!
One problem is the lack of an R2 DVD release, & American copies in the UK are expensive.
It's odd that the volume 1 box set is a lot more expensive than the 2nd set, though the later ones has the imfamous "filler" episodes some fans skip past.

Nadia has been available on the continent for almost 10 years in dvd and by the end of 2013 also on blu-ray. Yep you need to learn italian and or french but hey it sure beats learning japanese.

Don't listen to those that say to skip those 12 infamous episodes.
While it is true they are somwhat subpar, they are important enough for the fleshing out of the characters of Nadia and Jean that you simply cannot eliminate them.

Will it be worth double-dipping — make that triple-dipping — for the BluRay, I wonder? I will await reviews with interest.
(I guess the Streamline dub as an extra is too much to ask?)

For the Blu-rays yes ? Absolutely. The japanese Blu-rays are gorgeous.
We're not talking uipscales here, Gainax retelecined the whole series from 16mm film.
Frankly I'm amazed Sentai managed to license the series in high definition so quickly.

Wow— Fantastic! Good to have more info than the press release.
(The Secret of Blue Water has a very special place in my heart, for all its universally-acknowledged problems.)

I wouldn't say stranger things have happened, but things as strange have happened in the world of licensing... We can hope!
