Normally, I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to Sentai's dubs, especially with such a huge cast (with few repeats, which I'm glad to see), but I'm actually pretty excited about this one. Can't wait to see how Janice Williams directs this one.

Although, I am curious as to why Sentai said at Anime Expo that this dub would be "different"...

Kinda cool, too, that a few of the cast chimed in their excitement on Sentai's Facebook announcement.

I just hope it retains the same awesomeness of the original dub. That being said, I have faith in Janice Williams as her directing job on Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was really good.

In case you were wondering, yes, Natalie Rial is indeed Monica's little sister.

I've enjoyed the two Janice Williams dubs I've seen. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0's dub was great, and Clannad improved a ton after she took over for Foster, especially during After Story where Greg Ayres was a lot less shrill.

Wasn't planning on bothering with this show, but I really want to now just to see what it's all about and how good a dub this could potentially be, with all these great veteran voice actresses along with new and returning gals (Makoto from Kanon and Yomi from Azumanga, they barely did anything since those).

Though I am disappointed Jessica Boone wasn't included Sad

the entirety of the Clannad/Kanon (well, all KEY dubs while im at it) are in my "top 10" worst dubs ever list. Have not been excited for dubs with anyone related to those involved at all, but I loved the show so I'll be getting it anyway and I will give the dub at least half an episode to grow on me, but I doubt it will be enough. The Japanese was just so well done on this show.

I keep telling myself I'm not gonna like it. Because it's a dub. Because I can't stand dubs. Yet I know I'm going to check it out bc I loved GuP so much.

No one's forcing you to watch it in English...

That was my guess, so thanks for confirming that.

Agreed. An odd thing to say considering both tracks are available.

How could you have not liked Kanon or Clannad's dubs? Kanon was nearly perfect, and Clannad's only real problem after a shaky start was somewhat off name pronunciation that doesn't take away from the emotion of it.

The only bad Key dub I watched was Angel Beats!, which was a purely dreadful typical Foster dub.

Me too. The dub of Tears to Tiara was hilarious.

Unfortunately I have advance news from Sentai that Girls und Panzer will have non-selectable subs. For those with poor hearing like me, this is terrible news. You can't have English subtitles with the English audio. You can only have subs with Japanese audio, and since I already have Girls und Panzer high def fansubs, which will likely be superior to Sentai's official subs, which are usually poorly trasnlated and poorly proofread (based on LOTS of experience), this is a non-buy from me.

You;d think with months to fix it (I found out about this a month ago) they would be able to fix their menus to make subs selectable. But no, they can't be bothered.

This news came from Mike Bailiff of Sentai in response to my complaints about Medaka Box Season 1 blu-ray also having non-selectable subs, and my concerns about placing an order for their December releases.

"Hi Norman,

Subtitles are locked on this set, inadvertently. Season 2 will not be.
December title that will be locked is Girls und Panzer. All others will be fine.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best,
Mike

Yeah, she's just been acting for New York after the Excel Saga incident.
