I feel as if in exchange for the [dvd] extras you get an extremely detailed chapter/track listing that's broken down by skit (surprised that never got a mention). Admittedly, it's not a particularly good tradeoff but a detail worth mentioning nonetheless in my opinion.
This makes picking out favorite scenes for rewatching incredible and I'm surprised that other shows didn't pull this off, especially considering the 4-panel comic origins of many anime and the decision to organize of a series of skits to encompass an entire episode.

I can't wait to order this tomorrow after reading the review. I haven't watched any of the series yet but it looks like I won't be disappointed.

Sounds like a title I would like to pick up, although I have a backlog of titles I want to buy at the moment....

Looks like an NIS title, I think I watched the first episode a while ago and thought it was kinda mehh. Do the jokes get funnier? I assume its just slice of life and very little plot progression or character development.

It's mostly a joke series, the slice of life aspects would be tied into the series' humor.

From someone who got the same impression, the answer is: I don't know either. The first two-thirds of the first episode bored me away from the dvd.

That's about the way it goes, honestly. If the jokes in the first episode don't work for you, than you probably won't like the rest of the series. I (obviously) found it very funny, but one's sense of humor is very much a personal thing, and if you didn't laugh at episode one, I think it's safe to say that you won't laugh for the rest of the show either.

I did not really laugh at the what was shown in the anime, but it was very good anyway. So I would not call laughing necessary to enjoy this project.
However, for those who seek shows purely for comedic value, I would recommend never buy any series unless you watch one or two episodes beforehand. Otherwise such purchases would be very frustrating half of the time no matter how much the show was praised by others -- because, as Princess Irene Rebecca pointed, sense of humour is totally different for different people.
(I know this advice may sound obvious -- and it is obvious, actually -- however, this simply rule I talk about is often forgot anyway. Just a reminder may be of some help.)

Funny thing is that (at least to me), the last third session of the first episode is the best part of that episode, and I feel that's where the show kicks off from there.
