Timbaland's some sort of...producer...dj....guy. Anime hyper He produced Timberlake's latest album, and I know he did Nelly Furtado's latest album...he's sort of a big producer lately for a lot of different pop artists.

That's what I know, at least.

EDIT: Oh, I just remembered, he also wrote some of the songs on Utada Hikaru's american CD. So there's another tie to Japan for you.

Timbaland is accually one of the most famous producers in the music industry. He has turned sold bricks into gold(Timberlake, and a few other artists)

A lot of people don't even know Timbaland was one of the producers on Utada's american album, Exodus(I have the album so I know)

As usual once again for most fans anime+hip hop/rnb=bad, this is why I make amvs to change peoples perception.

Shocked this stuff has been at other places? this is really pissing me off Evil or Very Mad Linkin Park i can perfectly understand, but JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE!? thats just too much.

The only real difference between Linkin Park and Justin Timberlake is that some of the members of Linkin Park play instruments. They both make pedestrian music to make money. I mean, if you like them whatever, that's fine, but don't try to say that there's some sort of fundamental artistic difference between them.

What band doesn't do that? =P

Anyways, that's nifty. I personally was a big BSB fan back in the 90s(although I was 8-9 at the time...). And I haven't given any of his new stuff a listen because I only heard the chorus to sexyback, which made me rather sick.

Also, could someone inform me, who exactly is Timbaland?

Timbaland's a top hip hop producer and he produce beats and sing hooks for rap and r&b song for over a decade. He got big in the 90's with his label crew: Missy Elliot, Ginwine and the late Aaliyah (romeo must die). Only recently that he cross over to pop music because of his reputation. He's huge in the music industry because he's well know for making hits with a lot of the artist u see on tv..

He also raps (with his partner Mcgoo).

But are they the age of consent? Wink

Yes they were. See people, this is another assumption from someone who doesn’t listen to Timberlake’s music. He’s not a kids singer anymore. Not saying that using a couple of curse words makes him adult, but he curses several times in his new album, including is the Sexy Back song. Just because he was part of NSYNC, people think he should be hated and that he only sings for kids.

While I admit that there were little girls with their parents, I don’t think the parents were familiar with Justin’s post-NSYNC music. Justin drank, cursed, and flipped off the camera during the concert. If his main focus was kids, he’s no Barney. I mean you could honestly hear the "sing along" go down when Justin says “MotherF***er” during the sexy back song because the majority of the parents, kids, and other adults had only heard the edited versions.

But seriously, this is the last I will post about people’s misunderstanding that Justin Timberlake is only for little kids. Feel free to reply to my writing, but this topic is supposed to be about Ergo Proxy and other anime being played during the concert.

Timbaland does seem like a pretty big nerd, unfortunately it's going around that he outright took a song made by a finnish demoscene artist (which won the oldskool compo at assembly 2000), and used it in a song on Nelly Furtado's new album... basically used it in it's entirety without permission.

If it wasn't for that I'd say he seems cool... although I don't like hip hop/rap/etc (although truthfully I don't mind most J-pop, the backing music is usually more complex and more melodic than american pop (excluding morning musume) and very often even have guitar solos (like alot of ayumi songs). Although I very much prefer prog metal . Twisted Evil

Don't help that Ergo Proxy was shown in proximity of a Timberlake concert. Thats what's eating the thread alive.

Ha. That's rather messed up and hilarious in itself. He's conned all those parents into not only buying the damn mature cotent filled CD for their kids, but they also brought the dumb brats to the concert.

Then again, what idiot parent buys their kid a CD titled 'FutureSex/LoveSounds'. Well, likley the same idiots that buy their too young kid GTA.

I don't really see what the big deal is here about anime footage being used at a Justin Timberlake concert. It's not as if anime is going to suddenly become some sort of fad with teeny boppers or whatever just because of it, especially with a niche title like Ergo Proxy. M2M used footage from Pokemon The First Movie for their Don't Say You Love Me music video (what the song has anything to do with Pokemon I will never understand) and it wasn't the end of the world. I doubt most people in the concert even knew that the footage being used was anime. But I wonder how many people became interested in finding out about it after watching it. And even though I don't think this is a big deal, I have to agree that Ergo Proxy seems more like the type of anime to use at some angsty rock or pop-punk singer's concert rather than pop/hip-hop. Isn't it funny how anime fans always whine about how anime isn't popular and that they wished more people would like anime, but then when some popular singer uses anime references at a concert everybody starts bashing them?

Well, they did do a song called "Pikachu" Wink

I figured Ergo Proxy would appear at an Evanescence concert, considering the main character looks like Amy Lee.

Then again, Wind Up records doesn't care for AMV's.

A bit off topic but still Nsync JT related...

I think Don't say you love me had something to do with Ash and Misty. There was a song on 2BA Master called Misty's song in which she confessed she really loved Ash.

I wasn't a member here back then but was a big uproar when that soundtrack was annouced? Nsync ad 98 degrees were boybands on that cd. I feel its one of the thing 4kids might have done right.

But Don't Say You Love Me wasn't used in any of the Misty-centric episodes of Pokemon. It was used during the ending credits of Pokemon The First Movie which doesn't have anything to do with falling in love. And the soundtrack which you're referring to with boy bands and pop music singers on it wasn't 2BA Master. That was the soundtrack to Pokemon The First Movie which featured songs from and "inspired" by the movie. How anyone can be "inspired" by Pokemon is a mystery beyond me, especially when very little of the songs on that cd actually had anything to do with the plot of the film. Rolling Eyes

Um, they were hired by the studio to do the song for the movie. And i'm sorry to even admit this, but the song was used at the END of the movie in the credits. Big difference from the Timberake Concert.
