Having enjoyed the anime series earlier this year I was really looking forward to buying the manga. I'm so glad it won't disappoint me.

OMGs this is out already? Must buy, must buy, and it sounds like 7Seas' release is up to par. Kashimashi may seem like yet another Ranma ripoff, like you said, but much like Fruits Basket, it has a lot of other things going for it. Having enjoyed the anime, I'll have to be getting those discs from Media-Blasters as well as this manga. One thing about the review--isn't the girl named Yasuna, not Asuna? That's what I hear in the audio in the episodes (as well as what the fansubbers put in the subtitles), so it seems strange that the manga would have a different name.

Also, the list of postives like honorifics, translations of sound effects, and even a color page, really give me hope for their upcoming releases like Nymphet a.k.a Kodomo no Jikan, He Is My Master, and Strawberry Panic!. (And the rest of the upcoming Strawberry line, Saigo no Seifuku and Tetragrammaton Labyrinth.) I've never bought anything from Seven Seas before, so Kashimashi will be the first ever purchase from them. Glad to hear that I won't be disappointed. |

Isn't Seven Seas also releasing Shinigami no Ballad? I'd like to see how they handle the novel format, since it appears they're doing a great job with their manga. I've never bought anything from them before, but now I'm definitely pleased they're the ones who snagged some of the most intriguing titles of the past year. Yay.

Whoops! It IS Yasuna. The manga spells it right, but I must have phonetically remembered her name wrong. |

Check out our review of the first Boogiepop novel. Seven Seas is doing that whole series, and they're doing an awesome job with it. |

If you're referring to Boogiepop, no they're not. They only licensed the first three, and planned to base the licensing of future novels on how well those three sold. Hence the reason I get to easily worked up about their disastrous "exclusivity deal" with Borders (y'know, the one that's so exclusive it even excludes several Borders stores?), which can't be helping sales at all and I can already tell will be used as a convenient excuse to back out of getting more of their best novel license to date. |

RE: the Borders exclusive deal on Boogiepop... without it, our licensed manga line would have never gotten off the ground. So it's hard for us to truly knock it. That said, more Boogiepop really hinges on how our Light Novel launch titles do. So if you want to see novels 4-6 (including Boogiepop at Dawn), then please support our Light Novel titles this coming April/May! |

Considers the rate at which the New Year's budget is being devoured by manga, anime, PVCs and even light novels. I'm going to go bankrupt. |

*politely nudges you in the direction of as-yet-unlicensed light novels Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu and (especially) Saiunkoku Monogatari* *whistles innocently and walks away leaving you to ponder their greatness and marketability* I really hope Strawberry Panic and others go well for you, Seven Seas, if only because it means there is a market for novels, and thus will be able to bring over more delicious goodies. Like the two mentioned above, for instance...
You and me both, my forum friend. |

Do Seven Seas manga get stocked in British Borders? Because if they do I am so getting this! (Though I'll need to get my Dad to drive me there as my nearest Borders is out in the middle of a retail park).
I loved the anime too... I hope it gets sublicensed by MVM or someone so it comes out over here too and I can buy it. The only things I don't like are spoiler[Hazumu's incestual Dad... it's just creepy and the fact that in the anime at least Hazumu ends up with Yasuna. I am much more of a Tomari fan, though apparently Yasuna's more likeable in the manga than she is in the anime]. |

Ohhh, if you watch episode the DVD-only episode 13, spoiler[Hazumu ends up with Tomari in the very end. Hell, they were wearing wedding dresses and kissed each other! ] |

GracieLizzy: Mediablasters has licensed the anime for R1 so if you have to, you can always import. I've read quite a few posts from people living in the UK and other parts of Europe who say it's cheaper to import from the US than to get the releases there. I'd love to knew more about the release but the Mediablasters website and my computer apparently don't like each other. If you can't find the manga in stores, you can probably find a reliable online retailer that ships overseas. If nothing else, you can probably find someone willing to pick up a copy in the US and ship it to you. I'd be willing so long as I got reimbursed. |

Awww... thank you. It's true though, isn't it? We do seem to reply to each other's comments rather a lot. Usually to agree. *smirk* I also wanted to add that I am ridiculously impressed with Seven Seas' translation (they kept obasan! NO ONE does that!) and am on a quest to pick up their entire catalogue. As soon as I have the money, of course. *grins* I was going to buy Strawberry Panic when it was released anyway, but now I definitely want Shinigami no Ballad and all the Boogiepop books. Any company that translates きゃあー (kyaa) as 'squee' instantly becomes my favourite. Love it. |

At least, untile the next anime gets licensed. Why does it have to take so long for things to come out? The waiting is making me nuts. |
