Okay got a quick question for you guys here.

Hellsing Ultimate, is it the dvd pictured here?: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8144171&st=hellsin&type=product&id=1563248

Because I noticed that the DVD is called impure souls, and that is the name of the first seasons first DVD.

So is this the new Hellsing DVD? or is this yet another re-release of the first season? Because it is not called hellsing ultimate, but on hellsings website this is the DVD pictured.

That is indeed Hellsing Ultimate volume 1, actually that's the limited/special edition. If you're going to purchase it though, I would recommend the pre-order at deepdiscount where it is only 33.26 with free shipping.

If you don't care for the LE, they also have the standard version for only 16.63 on the pre-order.

Hellsing Ultimate

I didn't know they named it Impure Souls, but it does cover the same part of the manga as the first part of the Hellsing tv series so it's not surprising.

Ah, thanks. That would explain why I couldn't find any info on the name outside of this link at Best Buy.

Ah, that is good. It got me worried there for a second and yeah I am interested in the LE version. So this new season, actually follows the manga then? Someting the first season did not do at all. Thanks for the info guys.

No problem, and yes, the OAVs are going to stick to the manga, one episode per volume of manga from what I understand.

Yep it is one volume of the manga per OVA as the person above me said..Though the second OVA didn't include the last chapter or two from the manga, it will carry on into the third. The OVA's are going to be 35 minutes to 50 on average, and are being released every six months.

Really looking forward to this Hellsing Ultimate OVA to finally hit stores on December 5th. It's one of my favorite series, and it seems like I've been waiting forever for the release of the 2 disc limited edition. I know there's going to be a bunch of extra material on the second disc, but the only feature I know about is a Hellsing trailer. You can watch it here:

Does anyone know what other bonus material will be included with the set?

That "Broken Enlish" trailer is also listed in the extras for the Regular Edition. Either there is a mistake, or the regular edition has some nice extras to begin with and the Special Edition has a whole lot more on the second disc. What those extras may be, I don't know.

Personally, I think they accidentally mentioned the LE extras with the regular edition.

From what I can tell the first disk will probably be the same as the disk that comes in the regular edition and will have the same features, the second disk in the LE is what will have a bunch of extra stuff, and the LE also has this thing.

What exactly is that thing? Is it just a statue of Alucard, or the actual case for the DVD itself? It looks like the same item that came with the LE release of the R2 Japanese DVD, which I avoided buying because I couldn't figure out what it was.

Here's a list of the extras in the LE:

• All standard edition content plus a second disk with 57 minutes of extras
• Special Collectors Steel book package
• Alucard Relief Figurine onpack imported from Japan (US Exclusive Coloring)
• 16x9 anamorphic widescreen encoded from HD Master
• 5.1 DTS English
• 5.1 Dolby Digital (English and Japanese with English subtitles)
• Audio commentary featuring Taliesin Jaffe (English Voice Director) and Crispin Freeman (voice of Alucard)
• Trailer
• Broken English version
• Young King Ours version
• Japanese EP1 Trailer
• US Trailer
• Non-Credit Ending
• 4 Japanese TV commercials

I don't know what "Alucard Relief Figurine" means, but I guessing it's that thing. (I call it a 'thing' because I don't know either, but it comes in US exclusive coloring so I'm guessing that makes it special, though I don't know what that means either Very Happy )

It's apparently colored differently than the Japanese version, although I can't find a handy image for comparison.
