Hello everyone, I am wondering about the character of Kanako Ohno of the Genshiken manga and her obsession with older, balding men with glasses. In contrast with the other girl character, Chika Ugiue's bishonen Yaoi obsession, is there a particular name for Ohno-san's fetish? Are the older men characters also Yaoi or is it called something else?
I'm thinking that since they are middle-aged men, that it can't fall under the accepted Yaoi content.

"Aniki" (兄貴) is the term for athletic, muscular, muy macho guys from early 20s to as old as one keeps his body fit. "Oyaji" (おやじ) can be used to any middle-to-old aged man, but usually with some degrees of acquaintance. While terms like "anikicon" and "oyajicon" do exist, they are very rarely used (unlike "lolicon" or "shotacon", which are quite common). I don't know if there's a term for bald fetishes, though. |

i have no idea, but both the anime and manga are hilarious. but kuchi REALLY pisses me off. but if you compare what ohno likes to what the other guys like (loli and such) she's extremely normal. which is why she's practically best friends with saki.

It's short for "complex". I don't remember why "con" is used instead of "com".

probably because when people say it it sounds like "con" i think "con also sounds better. |

The Japanese transliteration for "complex" is "コンプレクス", or "conpurekusu" in romaji. The difference between "-m" and "-n" are not as evident. Meanwhile, the term "lolita complex" is too long to transliterate (ロリータ・コンプレクス), so in order to make it short the term "lolicon(m)" (ロリコン) was coined. |

I knew that "m" and "n" where similar in Japanese, but I thought that there must be more to it since there would surely be written differences even if they are verabally similar.
