Now, if someone could just confirm if they're going to dub all of them or if they're going to just write them off as too niche. High Scool Girls could easily be a success for them. (Plenty of people would buy it on that name alone.) Ramen Fighter Miki is an insane comedy and there are plenty of fans for that type of series. Both are likely to have dubs to increase the number of potential buyers.

Kashimashi is the one I'm most worried about. It easily has broader appeal than MB's yaoi-ish titles, but I'm worried they'll just assume it can only have that same niche success and won't bother spending the money on a dub. The series could get a boost in sales from people who buy and enjoy Seven Seas' release of the manga (Volume 1 in December!)

Go to http://www.gomanga.com and check out what Seven Seas is bringing in. Good stuff coming!

Anyway, I'm worried about Kashimashi not having a dub. I liked what I've seen of this series but if MB is basically just going to provide the same thing as the fansubbers, it almost seems pointless to buy it.

*Edited to fix the link.

Woot! Kashimashi got licensed! I don't care whether there is a dub or not, I wouldn't watch it anyway. Definitely consider buying it.

He's implying that someone who watches dubs is a "mundane" compared to someone like him, the exalted and glorious watcher of subs. Rolling Eyes

He's acting like a troll and trying to insult me and all other people who listen to dubs because he's insecure and needs to feel superior to someone. I pity him. Crying or Very sad

Of course he's ignoring the fact that in order to know anything about this series, I had to watch at least part of it fansubbed. Which means I can read subtitles just as well as he can. But apparently wanting the option of being able to listen to it in English makes me a lesser being in his mind. Rolling Eyes

Let's us both pray for a dub so we can hear our favorite female English VAs say lovey-dub stuff to each other! Bang Zoom's dub for Kannazuki no Miko succeeded with Michelle Ruff and Jennifer Sekiguchi playing Chikane and Himeko respectively! Embarassed Cool

High School Girls was very funny, but at times a bit perverted, overall I say it's atleast worth a rental. A few episodes are comedy gold though. The ending theme is extremely catchy!

Kashimashi is another good one, I loved how the TV series ends, I don't know why there are so many complaints, I think I'll skip the 13 episode so it won't ruin the series for me. This series I say definetely buy.

I actually don't really care which one I watch. A lot of the times watching it dubbed is just more convieneint because I can actually watch the show instead of reading the subtitles.

Of course there are some shows where the dubs are so bad I just can't listen to them, but that's not to dump on dubs in general.

Glad to have you on my side darkchibi07! Certain disturbing moments aside, those two really did have great chemistry together as Chikane and Himeko. Some of those scenes in the last episode were quite drool-worthy. Cool

Geneon's excellent work with Kannazuki no Miko is exactly why I had hoped they would be the ones to pick up additional yuri and yuri-ish titles. They didn't write it off as a niche series and forego even trying to sell it to the more general audience. They did a great dub, included gorgeous pencil boards (I still don't have the one from Volume 2 though. Crying or Very sad ) and made a great art box. Even added a sakura seashell for a bonus. Lots of extras too.

I just don't see MB doing that. I hope I'm wrong. I'll be waiting to find out. For me, the dub is a selling point. I like having the option of listening to one or the other, I like hearing English VA's tackling the characters and subject matter in anime, and I like being able to focus on the beautiful imagery of the series itself rather than on a few lines of headache inducing text.

If MB doesn't do a dub, they'll lose my money. Not because I refuse to watch subs, but because I refuse to give my money to a company that doesn't have enough respect for the property to give it the full treatment.

I'm just glad they didn't announce having Strawberry Panic! Facing the prospect of that one being sub-only would break my poor heart.
