I've seen a few eps on AS, gonna sit down and watch the whole thing in order eventually, but I noticed the two ova's in the listings. The thing that caught my eye, is one of them is about The Laughing Man. Now, I find this funny because every episode I've seen on AS was about him, so I'm a lil confused. Is the Laughing Man ova just a compilation of those episodes about him? And if this is true, is it the same for the others?

from the information in the encyclopedia it sounds as if 2 of the OVAs are just compilations (Laughing Man and Individual Eleven(from SAC 2nd gig)) and the 3rd OVA Tachikoma na Hibi is new material
note that for the first 2 ovas it says GitS Sac was used to make them, where as the third is a spinoff also note that i haven't seen any of the OVAs |

This one actually appears at the end of each episode, obviously not during the [as] broadcast. Each episode is a short conversation-like thing between all of the Tachikoma. You'll be able to see it if/when you buy the DVDs. |

Although I haven't seen the OVA, I would assume that the Laughing Man OVA is a compilation of the information given about him in the series, or a small extension. Yeah all of GitS:SAC 1st gig is basically about the Laughing Man. I lost interest around episode #17 and then just trudged through the last episodes.
^^^^^ is the best "OVA" since Tachikoma voices (at least in the sub) are so unbelievably awesome

The Tachikoma specials that follow after every episode are always really fun. Both the English and original Japanese are both really fun....and I found them even more heart touching after the end of the series. |
