N.G.Evangelion Questions

1. I know I sound stupid in asking this, but is Shinji's mothers Soul inside Eva Unit 01? I mean his father was speaking to his mother but no one was there accept Unit 01 behind him, Ritsko also called it a 'she' when the Eva wen't all berserk and broke from the armor/restraints. It could also explain why it is so attached to Shinji....

but then who are the souls of the other Eva Units? (Mainly 00, and 02)

2. What exactly are the Angels? I feel really dumb, but I still don't understand why they are there. Well, I guess I understand their need to find Lillith.... And that brings me to asking why did they call Lillith, Adam? Cause if I remember right, the last angel said the thing in the basement wasn't Adam and was actually Lilith.

3. My last question is about the Evangelion movies. I don't want any spoilers or anything but do they bring closure to the series? Do they explain most of what is going on and why? I just want to make sure getting them is the right thing to do

They're another form of humanity. Yes, it's Lilith, not Adam.

The first movie is just recap with a bit of the beginning of The End of Evangelion. EoE definitely provides closure and whatnot, but it's really confusing if you don't "get" what's happening.

Is that the reason why there were chosen as pilots? Now I am thinking this is the reason for all the candidates because if I remember right, everyone who was a candidate had lost one or both of their parents, right?

No problem. And Adam was that big creature of light at the Second Impact, as well as that crazy little thing on Gendou's hand. You may recall Kaji giving it to him after he shows up.

I recently bought the NGE Perfect collection boxset and have been re-watching the series. I know it may seem wierd but
I seem to understand it more watching it on DVD than I did when it was airing on TV. I guess it could be that its my second time watching it through...but Anyway, rewatching it has made me think of some questions I would like to have answered:

actually, i belive its a lot like the magi system.
Unit 00 is Yui as a woman, this is why it tries to attack Ritsuko, at least Ritsuku thought that.
Unit 01 is Yui as a mother. because of how it protects shinji
Unit 02 is Yui as a scientinst. Asuka might like to belive other wise, but she is wrong. Actually, it is a perfect mach for Asuka to pilot something that doesn't have much emotions. (unit 02 never shows any )

but then again, i might be very wrong, the biggest problem is that Asuka's Unit came from oversea's, but i'm pretty confident about unit 00's

A medieval reference to Lilith as the first wife of Adam is the anonymous The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, written sometime between the 8th and 11th centuries. I believe this is a spoiler if you haven't seen the movies, but spoiler[Rei is being grown from Lilith. You can see all the Rei legs dangling from her]. I'm not sure how she also possesses Yui's DNA, but she does.
