They capped the OVA at about 30 minutes so it doesn't overrun the production of Kill La Kill.

Didn't think they would make the stretch. I am a $100 supporter, but still very happy. Wish they had the same bonuses that Time of Eve offered though...

The original description on the front page used for the initial goal was not updated unfortunately. From Update #5 LWA2 will be 40 mins instead of 35 mins.

Since Time of Eve was mainly just a release of mostly ready made product (until the dub and a bunch of extra translated goodies came) we got a lot more value for our money as far as the rewards go. But I am really glad a a site like Kickstarter has the ability to raise enough funds for even original content like Kick Heart and Little Witch Academia 2.

Now all we need is an article/blogpost/comments/etc sub fans to put this up as proof that future crowdfunded anime need no dub (Time of Eve: $215k, Kickheart: $201k, LWA: $540k+) and- *shot*

Glad to hear that Trigger is aspiring to a full TV series and feature length movie. The wild success of their Kickstarter seems to indicate that those would be commercially viable. Hopefully, traditional anime investors are noticing (since I assume the cost of making an entire TV show is beyond the crowdfunding option).

More than saying that project like that are commercially viable, but also that anime company should not forget occidental market.

Just because something's 2D doesn't mean it's hand drawn. Every anime as of now, not called Sazae-san can attest to that. And what's wrong with 3D? 3D is good as well, thanks to guys like Pixar and the people doing Star Wars Clone Wars. |

Digital anime is still drawn by hand (3dcg elements excepted, of course). |

Lineart and some backgrounds can be hand drawn, where coloring and other effects are added digitally.

That's very good to hear, I'm so glad that something this good has resulted from Kickstart. It proves that it can be extremely useful in the anime industry. And due to just how much I enjoyed the original LWA, this project for a sequel has me very happy. I'm just a bit upset that I never got a chance to back up the campaign like I wanted to.
