That's a poor fit.
For a character like Snake he's bad choice because all i will hear is Jack Bauer.

I thought that would be the point.

Knew it the moment that trailer came about that it sounded like Kiefer. Kojima trolling complete, I guess.

I'm amazed that "Metal Gear Solid" hasn't got an anime version. It's good that Hollywood's doing a live-action version of it. From what I've heard of the game,it's narrative can be pretty darn strange. Maybe the Hollywood version can do a better job with the bizarre narrative.

Considering that this is an anime site, I'm surprised there's no mention of Sutherland's role as Ross Syllibus in Armitage III: Poly-Matrix. Anyway, I was never really into the Metal Gear series (not that I didn't like it, I just never had the right system to play them), but I did think that David Hayter did pretty well in the original MGS.

Well, I on the other hand was disappointed that David Hayter was not reprising his role but when I heard it was Kiefer Sutherland I all of a sudden wasn't sad anymore. I think if Anybody could replace David Hayter I think Kiefer Sutherland is a solid choice. I will be buying this day one.

Kiefer Sutherland as Big Boss?
That's great!
Can't wait to hear him in the game.

uh, why didn't you just get Richard Doyle who voiced Big Boss in MGSIV? That would make more sense. But then again since Konami has been trying (and failing) to copy Western sensibilities it does make sense they'd also go for stunt-casting with celebrities

Well at least their not pulling an EA by having the developer just use the actor's likeness instead of using an actual character design.

Not his best performance.
He's also in Call of Duty.

I have no problem with this but I do have one question. Why? Kiefer Sutherland is a very successful actor, I would go so far as to say if we count TV he is an A lister. He has got to cost a lot more than David Hayter, but I can't really see him drawing in that many more people. Like I said I am fine with it, but from an economic standpoint it does not seem wise.
