Unless I am missing something, delete the m and replace it with www?

Actually, just a few days ago I noticed a new feature offered by our CDN: they can detect mobile devices and automatically redirect to a different subdomain. I thought it was a great feature since I imagine most people don't know about m.animenewsnetwork.com/ and would benefit from getting a slightly more mobile-optimized version of the site.

Mattymattski, may I ask why you prefer www to m? On mobile devices m should definitely be better.

Yeah, i tried that. It's similar to when the website automatically sent you to the Australian version of the site a while back. As soon as the page starts loading the address bar changes back to the m. version. I've noticed that the forum email link still let me access the forums on the www. but the front page of the site is still doing it. This wouldn't bother me if the content was the same, but a lot of the usual links are missing from the mobile version.

On my phone it only redirects if I got to animenewsnetwork.com; it doesn't do it on .co.uk or .com.au.
I'm using mobile Chrome and the "request desktop site" option of that browser does nothing.
www-d.animenewsnetwork.com does not redirect.

--edit--
Just noticed that the drop down menus aren't working with my Note 2's pen in Chrome. In Firefox only half of them work but they all work in the stock Android browser.

Curious, does the auto-redirect work on PSP also?

I prefer the www coz it's got all the extra stuff like awnserman, rto, and the review links on the front page. Plus my phone automatically resizes the bodyof the page to fit my screen size. Less clicks = easier browsing. And I'm not very phone savvy, so new things throw me a bit.

Thanks all, the www-d has solved the problem. Thanks for the tip.

Ah, yes, the links in the sidebar have to be available at least in one place... I've changed m. so only the front page will have the sidebar.

The mobile site also breaks My Anime/My Manga for me. I'm in chrome, and the sidebar that lets you switch to My Collection is gone for m.

Hmm, yeah, no way to fix that one easily. I'll turn off the redirect.
