Adult Swim would be a great place to show it. Since it's never aired on TV out here properly a lot of people still haven't seen it.

Never seen Escaflowne but I think that a small run wouldn't hurt, I am sure that it would definetly spark more interest in this series. Then again I don't know if [AS] are buyers, it seems that they are only getting new shows, or shows that wildly popular in the US (Bebop)

Agreed it could probably more or less go unedited as well. They did show the movie once so mabey the will pick it up.

Adult Swim has already aired the Escaflowne movie uncut, so I don't see why they couldn't air the series. It'd also be a good title to try and see how well more teen-oriented shoujo anime performs on TV since Escaflowne has a pretty good balance of action to appeal more to guys and romance to appeal more to girls, so I think it could work well for Adult Swim and they seriously need more than just shounen action shows on their block.

Well, as long as the TV series isn't like the movie then it should do well on AS. I still remember all the hate-threads that movie got, it was--it was not a fan favorite

I heard that when the TV-version originally aired in the US, Yoko Kanno's wonderful score was taken out. Hopefully it will air again on US-TV with her music. I think Kanno's Escaflowne score ranks right up there with her Cowboy Bebop score.

Yeah, Fox Kids took out the music and did alot of pointless edits(mostly for violence but, story compression).

Yoko Kanno's music was NOT taken out entirely. However, much of it was mixed around, resulting in a couple tunes that only place three times or less originally (Epistle and Dance ofCurses) were played far too many times, not to mention some was remixed...

I don't disagree, but now that Toonami has moved to Saturday nights and is targeting the teens/older tweens, I think Escaflowne would be best suited there.
It might require a few censors, such as the occasional "bastard" and the trimming of blood, but even that would be minimal.
In fact, since Toonami felt safe to air "Bitch", "damn", and "ass" with IGPX, maybe they'd be okay with "bastard". (Or was the cursing part of the reason they moved it to a horrible time slot?)
Toonami can stick it in the final slot before Adult Swim (or, heck, just replace Futurama with Escaflowne). Escaflowne has the perfect mix of many elements to interest those waiting for Action Saturdays. You have a romance story and bishonen for the girls, flying ships, sword fights, a war story, and mechs for the guys. The voice acting starts off kind of scratchy, but improves as the series goes along.
The Escaflowne movie was darker and more bloody than the series, so it made sense to put it on AS. The series itself could show on either thing.
Regardless, Cartoon Network would seriously be missing out if they didn't scoop up the rights to Escaflowne.
On an unrelated note, CN needs to get someone to liscense Hunter x Hunter! It would make a great Toonami show.

Don't see the point. It's made as much money as it could, unless it makes it to the next-gen format. Bandai should just co-produce an OVA instead.

Actually, Esca is a big money maker for Bandai. That's why they keep rereleasing it in different packs. People are still buying it, and by now, it's pure profit. A run on tv will only increase exposure for a series that still gets good word of mouth and is often recommended to newbies looking for something to watch.
Would be nice if they could get it on tv, and then that renewed interest could convince Geneon to bring us the soundtracks. Affordable, nonbootlegged copies would be a very nice thing, and they seem to like Maaya Sakamoto because they know her name (as well as Kanno's) will sell.

Escaflowne is one of the greatest animes I have ever watched, I wish more people would get into it - it's one of those animes that truly entertains your emotions - you get so excited, and sad, and happy...
It's just so good... I hope they pick it up

IGPX was moved off Toonami due to low ratings. Kids weren't watching.
Well, I wouldn't mind it on either Toonami or Adult Swim, but they won't replace Futurama because Futurama gets more ratings than all of the anime shows.
I'm surprised Hunter x Hunter hasn't been licensed yet. CN doesn't work in the anime business, so they can't be much help.

Actually, judging by their most recent ratings reports, that is no longer true in all cases. Anime beat Futurama's ratings on several nights of the week.

I think it would be well-siuted to [AS] however, I find it nothing short of ironic, going from Fox Kids to Adult Swim. (yes, I know it hasn't been picked up by [AS] yet, but that would defently be the best place for it IMO.)
