Are we allowed to posts links to anime related videos (such as AMVs, but not fansubs) to a certain popular streaming site if we leave the youtube part in the URL and people who know what it is can enter the correct web address in? I wanted to link to this video in my Sims thread, but I was unsure if it was allowed. I've seen it done before without people being reprimanded, like in the post on this page by The Frankman.

Ok, I've unbanned youtube so you can link directly to it if you want. But no link to fansubs, and if you see one please alert the youtube staff so they can remove it.

Well, you can link a youtube video as long as you don't link to an anime episode or a fansub. That's why tempest once forbid youtube from being mentioned on the forums. It's got lots of pirated anime clips. And while youtube was forbiddon from being post about on ANN, I was thinking about calling youtube "the website we dare not speak its name" bu now I can't do that anymore because it's allowed to be mentioned again. So it's okay to link to youtube as long as you don't link to any full anime episodes or fansubs. Because we all know doing that is illegal.
BTW, there's a youtube staff? |
