You could've given the art side a B+ at least for one simple reason: Yhwach is probably the only villain ever who actually looks menacing with mutton chops.

Every volume of Bleach since the initial Soul Society arc should be rated F story-wise.

Eh, I'd give the story a C+; I found it fun to watch the lieutenants try to piece together why everything is happening, if only because I didn't know either.
I expect the next volume, if it gets reviewed, to get torn apart worse just because of how long the fight with Quilge is... Maybe it's easier to swallow in an archive binge.

This is the fresh perspective on the series that keeps conversation alive, folks.

I think the hardest thing Bleach faces now is, Aizen was hyped from the very beginning. His actions shaped the world of Bleach so much that they are even still being explored now. I honestly find it difficult to care about Yhwach and the Vandenreich because I can't see how Tite Kubo can make a threat bigger than Aizen, or even a group of characters like Xcution with some really likeable members (like Riruka) or an absolute foil to Ichigo (Ginjo).
To be honest, the best thing to come out of this arc is the very recent few chapters, with Isshin and Masaki's back story FINALLY being explained. However, that could have very easily have been placed in the Deicide Arc. At the beginning of the Fullbring Arc it was teased and personally, I would have preferred if that part of the story was covered then and the series had ended with the Fullbring Arc (which to be honest, has to be my favourite Bleach story arc).
Still, regardless of how bad the story gets, one thing I won't take away from Kubo is that he is without a doubt the best artist out of the big shonen manga artists at the moment in my opinion.

Alright, the last thing I wanna do is come off like that depraved fanboy above lol...but in all honesty, the Blood War arc isn't bad. HUGE improvement over the Hueco Mundo and Xcution arcs. Now the story definitely needs to get fleshed out some more, but this arc does one thing that hasn't been seen since Aizen was revealed to be the bad guy: Raises the stakes like never before.
Sure, Aizen had everyone fooled and was a major threat. But what didn't Aizen accomplish for all the time he hogged the Bleach spotlight? Kill Yamamoto, completely utterly destroyed Soul Society's infrastructure, kill off about 2000 of their soldiers, and put the fear of God into them.
The Vandenreich definitely are still in the need of some major development to come, but the one thing I really dig about them is that they don't f*ck around. The average Arrancar, or Soul Reaper or hell, even Aizen have this really bad tendency to exchange a few attacks, then exchange a lot more words. Anything from belittling their opponent to inflating their own ego to outright explaining how their power works. In comparison, what does the Commissioner Gordon quincy do while Shunsui's busy chatting? Without a word, he blasts him in the face and blows out his eyeball. Hell, Ywach is an even bigger example - he outright goes back on his 5-day grace period before the war and immediately proceeds to kill everyone the second he learns Ichigo is in Hueco Mundo - cause, you know, he's the hero of the story. And heroes of the story are a pain in the ass.
The only shonen villain this genre savvy is probably Sensui from Yu Yu Hakusho. So you know what, I'm giving the Vandenreich, Yhwach and this whole arc the benefit of the doubt simply because they made a hell of an impression in the short time they've been around. I could very easily be disappointed in the long run, but for now, I'd like to think Kubo will capitalize on some of the potential he's introduced.
Plus, Nazis are always fun. The Vandenreich may be a thousand years old, with a different name, but they're Nazis at heart.
Name one non-Nazi-military-barber who'd dare touch that head of hair.

No, review seems legit. Even the Bleach fans say the story sucks now... |
the battle against aizen and the fullbring arc did suck but i am up to date on the chapters with the japanese release and this arc has been great so far however there is some BS moments such as baykukya surviving a battle he should of died in and the kenpachi and unohana fight was way to short and her bankai didn't make any sense but there are awesome moments like yammato's death holy crap that was awesome and i am really liking the flashback we are in and of course the villain of this arc is better then aizen

I think most of the Bleach hate comes from the fact that Bleach is a weekly manga that moves at a snail's pace. I recently blasted through several volumes of the manga and, after every volume, I felt like barely anything had happened.

Something weird is that the supposed new supporting characters appear and are never seen again. This arc does bring some good changes but it also makes some annoying moves
Good things is that the good guys are actually getting their asses kicked and that Ichigo isn't not saving everybody like usual. The new bad guy may not be talkative but he is really intimidating.
Bad things are Ichigo becoming half human, half Shinigami and half Quincy is ridiculous; Unohana getting hyped just to get killed by Kenpachi who is becoming a boring invincible hero is even worse.

About the Ichigo revelation, his bed sheets always had a Quincy cross on them; you can check the beginning of the manga, episode 1 of the anime, or even the first movie from 2006. My mind was blown.
Of course, we can all argue if the execution stunk or not.

the reason why those fickle fans are saying that cause the creator made ichigo a half soul reaper/half quincy in this arc
