Uh, you might want to tell everyone that the article contains Spoilers.

Shouldn't that be a given since it says the article traces the story?

I agree.
I think you should note that it reveals some plot details and the end of the manga: "Raito, who spends much of the series dominating opponents and acting in a cruel, callous and calculating manner, does indeed meet an unpleasant ending". Although the ending may seem forgone a lot of people may not see it that way.

I guess its more of a courtesy thing more than anything else.
Besides traces can mean a lot of things. Like the article starts off talking about the authors and artists, it could be tracing them.
It doesn't matter I stopped reading as soon as it went into full blown spoiler mode.

ARGHH!!! If only I spoke Japanese! Otherwise I would've seen the movie when I was in Tokyo! The posters in Tokyo and the commercials for it all over MTV Japan made it so,for lack of a better word, orgasmic!
The one thing I can't get passed is why the call him "Raito." In the US graphic novels his name is "Light Yagami", and that's what I know him as. I guess because Japanese don't have the letter "L" and the names all end in vowels his name has to be pronounced "Raito."
Anyway, the movie looks so sweet!

Because his name IS Raito, which in english can be translated out to something like either "light" or "write" depending on the meaning you wanna have. The comp. apparently went with "light", although there was really no reason to translate it at all imo since it's a name.
