Late on Funi's part but essentially fantastic news. This one could be a decent hit.

Are they streaming it only for subscribers like The Anime Network does, or with a week's delay for non-subscribers like Crunchyroll?

I just went to funimation.com and apparently Attack on Titan is only available for elite (paying) subscribers. That's a bummer!

YES.
Now the series is almost guaranteed a physical release with a dub as well! Great news! But...It's a bummer if it's only going to be available for subscribers.

Am I the only one who thinks this show looks goofy? Giant naked humans?

Yay! Though I wonder if it will be subscriber-only permanently, or if there will be a delay like with crunchyroll?
EDIT

I can see where you're coming from, and some of the Titan designs can look kind of odd, but let me assure you that any goofiness they may have disappears pretty quickly.

So, since the link to the promo material on the Funimation site leaked, the only question for the announcement to settle was where it was streaming and on what schedule ...
... and they don't bother to include in their announcement where it will be streaming and on what schedule?
Brilliant! !! !!!
Somebody find a facepalm gif, I can't be bothered.

I notice when I am logged in, AoT appears in the "Simulcast Shows" list, and when I am logged out, it is gone.
Going to the video page itself shows the "E" (Elite) symbol on the first episode and attempting to view it while logged out indeed results in the prompt that you must be an Elite subscriber to view it.
It remains to be seen whether Funimation is expirementing with the CR model (subscribers only at first, free later), or a more restrictive version of the TAN model (since they usually offer at at least the first episode for free, but the others stay subscriber only).

This!!! (Except the 'Woohoo' would definitely be sarcasm : P) Every time I see Funimation pick up streaming rights for something I am disappointed. Hey Funi, I love supporting anime and creators, as well as those who make anime available in English. Why do you shun us Canadians? >.<
As for the show, I saw the first episode, and looking forward to more!

they actually make a funny joke about that in the manga. The Commander says he wouldn't mind being eaten if it was by an attractive female titan. However titans are asexual and resemble chubby Americans.

I'm still hoping this proves more entertaining with the manga, but the humans transforming into titans ruined the manga for me anyway. Was loving it until that gimmick showed up. Might pick it back up if the anime goes beyond where I got (chapter 20 or so) and is better than my memory serves

One of the best episodes that premiered last week imo and glad this finally got licensed.
Now, I wonder when Jojo's turn will come..

I live in Canada and it seems to be working fine for me. It takes a while for the page to load but it always does on their site.
