You have doubts they're going to have an American release with a dub for the third movie here? It's too big and popular not to have one. I still can't figure out if these blu-rays are English-subbed. If so, I'd import them in a heartbeat. |

That was before Aniplex USA embraced the "premium pricing" model that they do today. Yes, they will cut out features from the Japanese release to prevent reverse importation (a real pity, I would have totally paid Fate/Zero prices for Madoka if it had the commentaries and/or localized drama CDs along with the dub). However, they will not spare any expense to make it the best release possible. I'm certain we'll have our dubs for these movies. |

Then why did we not get any dubs for the Kara no Kyoukai DVDs either? That show sold out on bluray, so you know the demand is high enough to support a dub. |

If Aniplex intended to make Kara No Kyoukai more accessible to the English-speaking audience and expand its customer base, they wouldn't have made it so difficult to watch legally. I myself am quite interested in this franchise and even I am scared off by its lack of accessibility. $150 on something I may or may not like is not practical, given all the other titles I can legally try out for myself. Also, I don't own a PS3. So there's that. This is something I hope Aniplex will address with Daisuki and make me reconsider that position. |

I've given up caring (and crying) about Aniplex's pricing policies and have resolved to saving as much as I can to get what I want. They want 100 bucks for a deluxe set of the Madoka films, with soundtrack, after I've already paid $30 to see them in a crappy, rundown, can't-see-over-the-heads-of-people-infront-of-me-to-read-subs theater? OKAY ANIPLEX TAKE MY MONEY TAKE IT ALL |

What you said about the theaters could not be more true. This picture summarizes my experience seeing the Madoka movies at a theater: http://i.imgur.com/H8HX4Xl.jpg (I took this photo specifically to express how frustrating it is that this happened, hah. I was first in line but people pushed in front of me when the doors opened. They then immediately ran straight to the front of the theater and sat in front of the subtitle placement. At least I still got posters.) I'd like to point out though, this is not the U.S. release. Aniplex Incorporated is not Aniplex of America. There is no danger of this being the U.S. release of the movie. It's possible but I don't think it's probable for this release to have subtitles. I'll be preordering to complete my set of JP BDs, and for pretty much no other reason

The TV series Japanese BD LE's did not have english subs. There is no mention of english subs on the Japanese website or at Amazon JP for the movies.
So most likely there will not be english subs for the Japanese releases of the movies. But there could be a chance that changes. |

If they come with subs, I am more than willing to pay for Japanese prices.
I did pick up the Tiger & Bunny Movie LE BD because I was severely disappointed in Viz's release of the TV series. If you can afford (or save up) for Japanese releases of animation movies. Do it. In the end their quality and extras are worth the week of ramen eating. |

Only upon rereading the article did I realize this was for Japan. Sleepy eyes can deceive~ However, knowing Aniplex, wouldn't they release the U.S. set fairly quickly after the Japanese release? The time taken to dub it may be what slows it all down... I don't remember how much of a gap there was between the airing of the show, the JP releases, and the U.S. releases. Does anyone remember? As for your theater experience, I'm really sorry to see that happened at more than one theater! They really picked poor locations to show the films, it would seem. It was my birthday present to go, and I didn't even get a poster  I took a friend that was a Madoka newbie, we sat near the back of the theater, and still couldn't see a thing. NO ONE COULD. Everyone's heads were in constant motion, craning to see what was going on. She finally sat in the middle of the aisle (she did move whenever anyone walked by, though). Thankfully, I knew the dialogue well enough I managed to watch the majority of it while seeing only fractions of the subs, only leaning up to catch subs for the new scenes. Still, it was a fairly awful experience. We didn't even get the new film promo! Not to mention, when it was time for the second film, they STARTED THE FIRST FILM OVER AGAIN FOR FIVE MINUTES.
