That's awesome! Glad they understand that GITS has a huge U.S. following.

So wait, this is just the event, NOT the premiere itself?

Okay. That explains some things. I'll be sure to check it out. Smile

I just hope this doesn't mean that Bandai Visual is planning to release the show in the U.S. themselves. Knowing what they've charged in the past, that could get..... pricey. Anime dazed

"To promote the event, Bandai Visual is currently offering free, English subtitled episodes of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex on its official YouTube Channel until February 20. Due to licensing issues, these episodes are not available in the United States and several other countries."

Hmm...(looks at GitS DVDs on book shelf). Not available in the US, huh?

Probably because Adult Swim has the streaming rights.

I was just thinking the same thing. Now, I feel the need to do a GITS: SAC, GITS: SAC 2nd Gig, and GITS movies marathon.

The article is referring to the episodes on the official Youtube channel — those are not available in the United States and several other countries.

At least she would appear to wear clothes in this series.

Her suit in previous iterations made the shows annoying to watch, which was a shame for an excellent series. Everyone else could seemingly dress normally except for her Wink

GITS:SAC has been available for streaming in the United States for over 6 months. Manga Entertainment has a YouTube channel where these are available. I guess the Japanese audio version wasn't officially on YouTube before though as this is the dub. 2nd GIG isn't available though.

Kinda bummed/uneasy that no one who was involved with any previous iteration of the franchise will be attending this.

That said, I will watch the English version only if it is overdubbed by Richard Epcar.

spoiler[Just kidding I'll watch it anyway]
