Well, the option I choose for the poll (Something we forgot to list (Please comment in forum)) said to say something in the forums, but I say no topic, so here it is.
While the options given had a couple of things that interest me (anime screenings, AMVs, industry panels), the main reason I like going to anime conventions (like the upcoming ACen) is because of the aura.
I catch a small amount of flack for my love of anime- nothing bothersome, but even so there aren't a lot of people in this area that are into anime as much as I am, so it's hard to talk to any of them about it. Going to an anime convention, I'm surrounded by people who love anime just as much as (if not more than) I do.
Even if I don't buy anything, even if I don't get to go to any of the bigger panels that I want, it's just invigorating being surrounded by people with like interests. At the last ACen, I was filled with a euphoria that I hadn't felt before (or since), just because I finally felt like I belonged.
And sometimes you just see something that makes you think you're not so weird. ;)

Well, it looks like a lot of us have not been to an anime convention yet. I myself included. So it's going to be interesting at Anaheim.

To me there were two options that I could hardly decide between, but I ended up going with cosplay, because I've cosplayed at every con I go to, and even sometimes when not at a con. And I also cosplay during my close second choice, which is working at/running the con.
Yes, I'm insane and love working at/helping to run anime cons. I'm also insane enough to have at least 2-3 costumes to wear at any con I go to.... >_>;;;

I put "I haven't been to any con," when in reality, I went to A-kon once and some local comic conventions (which I don't really count). So really, I've kind of been to some, but I'd say not enough to know what would be my favorite thing about them. I'm probably just being annoying. :p

I like meeting the voice actors. I think it's cool to be able to meet the voices behind the characters in person and ask them questions about what they do, and maybe get pictures with them. I get to meet Steve Blum and Vic Mignogna this year at Anime Boston. KICKASS!

Paddles?
I'm planning on finding some bargains on anime this year, hopefully I can find some at Anaheim.
