Seems kinda harsh to refer to Blue Exorcist as moronic fluff. Maybe I am just reading it incorrectly o.o .

Nah your not misreading it, but meh, I wouldn't look too much into it, to each their own, personally I enjoy Blue Exorcist *well i've only read some of the manga, but yeah* You know what they say one mans trash is another mans treasure & vice versa. But yeah it is abit harsh I guess, even if the anime *from what i've heard anywho* isn't as good as its manga counterpart. I do agree though it would work well on Toonami, but Aniplex went with Neon Ally, nothing wrong with that in the long run, and who knows it may still air on Toonami someday, just have to wait & see. |

Actually it was "moronic fluff that'll play well to the Bleach-watching crowd." So he managed to insult the fans of Blue Exorcist and Bleach in one brief sentence. And to make sure that they got the point he ended by calling them "fringe weirdos." That might be acceptable for a forum post, but in an article that was written for ANN it is going a bit too far. I have never seen Blue Exorcist, but I am a bit of a Bleach fan. So I am a bit biased. |

I like Bleach and I'm proud to be called a "fringe weirdo." |

Brian has always had some weird disdain for shonen stuff, so I'm not surprised. He seems to attack them every opportunity he gets.

I've become much more attentive over animation and animators over the last year or so, and I think it's boosted my enjoyment greatly. Unfortunately, I still can't recognize styles outside of Imaishi and Hironori Tanaka (two of the more recognizable ones, so I'm not exactly impressed with myself), but I've resigned myself to that fact and just enjoy the work.
If someone is really interested, I recommend subscribing to BlueSakuga on Youtube. He makes a lot MADs and makes sure to tag the animators who did the scenes. Then theres our very own braves' Youtube channel, which is an amalgamation of hundreds of sakuga videos. One of my favorite things to do is look up a name and then start jumping around by picking videos out of the sidebar. It's really cool when you're watching a MAD and go, "Oh, this guy animated that one scene I thought I was really cool!" That's how I learned Yoh Yoshinari did a lot of my favorite scenes, with number one being the opening scene to Mahoromatic. And since Brian brought it up, Nozomu Abe did a few of those really good scenes from Fate/Zero. He was also the head animator for the action scenes in Madoka Magica. |

You basically said everything i wanted to say. I started paying attention to the animators in late 2009 when i first came across AnimeBlue's videos on YouTube and from what I've observed the community is incredibly dedicated. I only casually participate mostly because i am in higher education and don't have time anymore but It never ceases to amaze me seeing the amount of research that goes on. The only animator i compiled a video of was a guy who works on Fairy Tail who is now a regular animation director on the show (I used the ANN Encyclopedia to narrow it down). That appears to be a thing too. Sometimes like with Shingo Yamashita an animators work gets noticed by studios and they get a lot of work. From the few animators i've talked to on twitter they seem to appreciate the fans compiling their work. On an additional note, as someone who only recently started blogging about this kind of thing it interesting to see the hate for sakuga fans that has recently surfaced. Specifically from a blogger that shall not be named. |

If I believe Wikipedia, Comic Yuri Hime has a 70% female readership. But Yuru Yuri first came out in Comic Yuri Hime S, which was targetted towards males. None of this answers the real point, which is the age range targetted.

Not for long. Seven Seas Entertainment releases of Milk Morinaga's Girlfriends, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, and Strawberry Panic will probably promote a fanbase for the current generation while also appealing to the older, unappreciated yuri fans. Now, you guys can enjoy the splendor that us fujoshis had for years (leagally)! |
