I'm looking for a really good sci fi action manga similar to ghost in the shell. I would start getting ghost in the shell but every volume is 20 bucks. i think thats a rip off. If you know anywhere to buy it where its about 10 bucks can you tell me? Also if you know any other really good sci fi action mangas then tell me. and i mean really good.

Try Battle Angel, one of the best sci-fi action manga you will ever come across, and in my opinion much more entertaining than GITS. Since VIZ's rerelease of it, it fits the 10 buck price range.

She just said it was
Anyways, THE classic Sci-fi manga is Akira (yes, it's very diffrent than the movie). Not only did it redefine manga storytelling, but it's also an incredible epic with depth, style and tons of action. While the trades are expensive, you can get them online or on eBay for around 100, which is what you'd be paying if it was ten $10 trades (the large format it the only way to look at Otomo's art as far as I'm concerned).
Battle Angel is quite good as well. Some people have had negative reactions to it, but overall it's a great series with good ideas to back up the violence. As for contemporary series, there's BLAME! and Eden. BLAME! lacks depth, but artwise it's incredible and the story is fairly entertaining. Eden is a superb post-apocalyptic story. Not as good as Akira, but pretty much the best new Sci-Fi manga in the American market.

Maybe you misunderstood me. There are six trades all prices from 20 to 30 dollars. However, each trade is very thick (some are over 400 pages) and the print quality is high, so your not just paying the extra money for nothing. If your willing to look online you can probobly get all six of them for around 100 (amazon is a good place). Since the entire series clocks in at about 2,000 pages, it's more or less the same price as ten two-hundred page volumes.

This Campusi search turns up results for Ghost in the Shell for $10 at half.com. A new copy of Akira volume 1 is available at overstock.com for around $9.
Out of these two I'd go for Akira. Aside from the high quality of the books, the manga is widely considered a classic series and should at least be sampled by every manga fan. The art is wonderfully detailed and the story is amazing.

Except Battle Angel will cost you more in the long run despite individual volumes being cheap. Since it's only two volumes currently out I'd go with Eden. And no, you won't be able to get GitS anywhere for ten dollars unless it's used.
