The earlier article said it would have announcements both today and early next week, so there's still a good chance it'll be announced. If not later today, then sometime Monday I suspect. |

Funimation Entertainment: You should be fapping.
Seriously, show some dignity by licensing shows people don't watch with a hand beneath the blanket. I'm pretty sure nobody's watching this for the plot. |

XSEED on Senran Kagura localization: “We’ll have to see” We'll see is better than a straight no. |

Some people happen to like these types of shows and Funimation is well aware of it (not everyone has the same tastes in series that you do). From a personal perspective, I would prefer that they license these types of shows over paint-by-numbers shonen action series. Hopefully this show will get a physical release here. |

Seriously guys, you're going to jump all over FUNi for going for a sure sell? Business is business. Even some of the more appreciated titles, they 'get' for the wrong reasons, but we should still be happy to get them. I'm pretty sure they didn't get Fujiko because they suddenly thought Lupin the 3rd was going to be a major seller - they got it because she's naked half the time in it.
Besides, this just says 'streaming', nothing about them actually licensing it yet. Besides, I for one do enjoy a good comedic fanservicey show. Girls Bravo is still one of the most hilarious freakin' shows I've ever seen. |

I wish FUNi would just get into real hentai if they also love licensing these shows. There's hundreds of titles dating from back around 2006 when they stopped getting licensed in decent numbers, so a subdivision would never run out of product to acquire. Senran Kagura to me just feels like a waste of time when you have the likes of Qwaser and Manyuu floating around. This is just a regressive step backwards to Ikki Tousen, which had lackluster action and prurient fanservice, making it almost entirely worthless.

People are always jumping on FUNimation for licensing fanservice shows, but the truth is they also pick up a bunch of standard non-ecchi shows as well. Out of the last 6 shows they simulcasted in October, only one (OniAi) could technically be counted as fanservicey.
I mean, this is the company that gave us Steins;Gate, episodes 5-8 of Hellsing: Ultimate, and a deluxe re-release of Serial Experiments Lain for cryin' out loud!! But no, everyone just like to toss FUNi under a bus whenever they pick up anything the least bit "racy". Sheesh... I tell ya. |
