To say I'm ecstatic about this would be a HUGE understatement. I am/have been a HUGE Voltron fan, though Voltron 3D was a HUGE let down. Can't wait to see how WEP handles this one. BTW, In case you are unable to put 2 and 2 together, I am the one that contributed this news.

That 3D voltron was really really ugly looking, if they were going to air it they should have aired the original. But I wonder what the new Voltron will be like.

So wait, this isn't actually going to be an anime right? It said "trend towards anime" which means it's just another american made Voltron series right? The only way I'm really going to enjoy this is if it's an update of the original (like what Image is doing with the comic) and not a totally new rewriting (like 3D, blah).
Man, I'm a huge fan of voltron, have been since the begining. I'm really afraid this is going to be a train wreck. I'd much rather they made a whole new series with a whole new cast of characters than yet another attempt to update the series. Wish I could say I'm excited about this, but I'm actually kinda mad.

I am looking forward to it, and to some change. The original series was hokey (well it had to appeal to 10 year olds ) and many of the subjects presented them wuoldn't fly with the audience of today.
Hope they continue where they left off . Hopefully we can see some VV action as well.

Maybe even Albegas!
I just hope the Veil interactive stuff doesn't mean it'll be run by the toy company like V3D.

The 3D Voltron wasn't too bad. They just screwed up a couple of details, is all. Tim Curry is a great actor, but he's no Prince Lotor. Lotor's original voice cannot be topped. They dug up most of the other original actors. Why not him? That and the costume changes. The princess may pilot Blue Lion, but she wears a pink suit. Everyone knows that! Keith is the Main Character. He wears red, even if he does pilot Black Lion.
A new anime would definitely rock. They'll probably start it over at the beginning, and that could be a good thing or a bad thing, though.

Lennie Weinrib, who did the original voice of Lotor (and Pidge) retired. So they had to replace him. I think Tim Curry did a nice job and Billy West definitely did a nice job as Pidge. He was somewhat less androgenous in V3D.
But the stories were still really thin and dumbed down a lot. There were a few good episodes int he second season but that's about it. Although it did win an emmy.
