Their cd comes out next month here, it would be too late if they play next year. It has to be before or during summer that they tour or else there would be no point. Speaking of today's the day where's my updates.

What do you mean no point if they don't tour in the summer? There's no pressure for the guys to tour before then. There's really no way they'll tour before summer, it takes more than a season to book and plan a tour, and they don't have enough time. Some venues that they're booked with would of already announced their coming on their own sites, if they're going with venues at all instead of conventions. If they're going to have any shows before summer, it'll be late spring, right before summer. I have no doubt they'll have a couple shows this summer, but I don't think it'll be a full tour.

You have to realize something too. These guys are on an Indie record label. They don't work the same as a mainstream label that tries to get the band well known way before a cd release with tours, non-stop commericals on mtv, and tours after the cd release. Course it's still up to the bands mostly with mainstream, but Indie works differently. When a band with an Indie label tours, it's their own bookie who books the shows, rarely ever is it the record label unless the band asks for help. It's completley up to the band on when they tour, and how much they tour because they're the ones making the money from touring, not the record label, in this case, Warcon. It's not uncommon for an indie label band to tour months after a cd was released, nor is it uncommon for them to be touring a couple years after the latest cd was released. Indie labels don't really give a crap about hyping up a cd, and trying to get the band known before hand because they don't have the exposure mainstream has. Indie usually survives from word of mouth.

It won't be "too late" for Dir en grey to tour because they're indie over here. No one's going to care when they're touring except for the die hard fans they already have here, and people who have nothing better to do then go see them if they have a gig in the area.

Which is why they need a tour like taste of chaos. Both of Lyman's tours are designed to mix indie with mainstream, giving both equal amounts of exposure and giving the indie bands the mainstream crowd they wouldn't normally see. Plus the tours are usually getting to the point where they're sold out, and with that being an outdoor venue tour, that's a lot of people.

And since bands that have only played for Warped and Taste of Chaos, or are booked for future tours, make it on the compilation cds that are released by the tour, that's a good sign that Dir en grey may already be seriously considering Taste of Chaos.

I said "before or during summer" fall can work too. Just saying if they're going to tour here at all it should be sooner rather than later. Most popular bands have their peak in cd sales within the first month of their release. It's true that indie bands differ in that respect put most don't even have a peak in cd sales until they do get mainstream or at least have more exposure like the taste of chaos tour like you said. As a Japanese band there really is no chance in hell of them ever becoming mainstream in America. It's every record labels responsibility to spread the word about what they're putting out, even indie labels want to make a living out of what they do. I don't see DEG doing an extensive tour here at all I just believe it would be more helpful for Warcon to publicize now. This will be the first Japanese band that will be trying to assimilate with American bands on a somewhat level playing field and are on a compiliation album with non Japanese bands that's released in America. Japanese bands such as Envy and Mono have toured and released cds in America but the anime community doesn't give a crap about them because they're not well known, tis a shame.

Now I'm going to sound like a broken record and say, where's my updates??? spoiler[Actually they took down the February 15th date for the announcement hmmm][/spoiler]

Well I was right, only 3 shows and all of them are too far away for me.

God damn all the shows are way too freaking far from me, and buying plane tickets this soon is beyond the capability of my budget... and that's also when I'm going to see Prodigy... god damn choices and decisions. Maybe I can save enough in time...

AP (Alternative Press) Magazine http://altpress.com/, pretty much the biggest magazine out there for up and coming music in North America, did a brief review on Deg's Withering cd. They gave it a 3 out of a 5, with 5 being go buy it, and 3 buy it used. Wasn't a really flattering review that didn't touch up on anything more than Kyo's vocals, and all they really did to describe the sound was say it was Cradle of Filth meets HIM. I guess I could see where that came from, but I'm hoping as Warcon promotes the cd more, better reviews will emerge.
