Well that should be interesting. I wonder if they'll opt to get Fujishima to do more character designs. The characters in the game were pretty good, but the story definitally needs work.

If I read the credits at the end of the game (Tales of Symphonia) correctly, then many various different studios apparently contributed to the production of the Anime cut-scenes (Gainax, Production I.G., Bee Train, Bones, etc) in the game. I don't know the details on anything else, but I just found that somewhat intresting...

This should be good, but as Kagemusha already stated, the story needs work, but the animation should be good, and cool characters to boot!

Tales of Symphonia is a Namco game, right?
I don't think this seems suprising: Production IG and namco have a pretty good relationship: I remember reading somewhere that IG is also doing the anime introduction to that upcoming Namco X Capcom crossover strategy RPG. (If you never heard about it, just know that the developers of Xenosaga and Baiten Katos are behind it. Read more here.) |

All I can say is that I eagerly await the release of this series. The game rocked, and hopefully the anime will be as good if not better.

Does anybody have the announcement from gameonline.jp says? Because I can't access the page and I want to see the announcement itself, not just animenewsnetwork's.

Ok, anybody know why the Tales of Symphonia anime info page was updated when there hasn't been anymore news? Is somebody trying to get peoples' hopes up?

Never. Either the translation was wrong or the original sorce misread it. Production I.G. has never had plans to make a Tales of Symphonia anime. I assume they were talking about the fact that Production I.G. is doing the animation for the game, which is nothing new to the series since they have done all the amime cut scenes for the series since Tales of Destiny in 1997.

Exactly. I moderate the TOS forum, there was a user confused over there, too. ^^; As far as I know (I don't actually WORK for Namco, I'm just a volunteer), Namco hasn't made any announcements regarding a TOS anime, and I think this original announcement was talking about the anime cutscenes in the game. |
